Argh! no! Leave me SOME memories to cherish, will you?

http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/08/05/an-old-favorite-gets-a-makeover-and-returns-to-pbs/

Don’t think I’m at all happy about that.  And Keeley Hawes again!? Don’t we have any other actresses? It’ll be just a souped-up sexy romping thing, I’ll bet.

Quick update healthwise: Had amazing time at hospital – no, really. Decided to go really early – they open at 8 – so got there at 815 and I was still number 11.  Got called in in mere minutes, and told the nurse, was ignored…but then she got in the arm in ONE GO. I was sitting there gobsmacked. She asked if I was ok, because it was coming out slow. (I knew this too, but there’s no point telling them this, either. My blood is the blood equivalent of light on the Discworld. If they DID hit an artery, my blood would crawl out so slowly, I’d take about 3 weeks to bleed out. Lazy blood. Its a real condition. Look it up.) Anyway, she took all she needed and had me de-tourniqueted before you could say… well, before you could read Chapter One of Standish anyway. I was grinning like a fool, and thanking her so often she probably thought I was mad. Shut up, at the back. “It’s my job,” she said, with not a little pride.  “But yes!” I wanted to shout. “It’s the phlebotomist’s job at my surgery too, and every single nurse I’ve encountered in my LIFE, and I’ve never had an experience like that.”

But I didn’t. I just wobbled off, grinning.

Adopt one today! - Adopt one today!

When I read the header of this post it sort of ran together in my brain into a vampire version of Upstairs, Downstairs. What with the mention of 'revamped' and blood... LOL

I guess the vampire craze can be blamed for that mental glitch.

Clicked the egg btw.

Yay! That's great!
I was worried about you becoming a pin cushion... OUCH!

I sympathize with you, although I don't have extra-hard-to-find veins, usually. My doctor's wife/nurse was so good at doing this that I never knew how good I had it until she died last year (stupid cancer!) and now the nurse takes forever and usually bruises me too. On the other hand, at least I don't have to go to the hospital to get it done -- since that costs way extra here, and my insurance is not thrilled with that.

Oh, I'm so glad--you were overdue for a break on this! Every so often, there's a nurse who actually knows what she's doing.

Send that hospital a letter of thanks and praise her to the skies!

Upstairs, Downstairs??? Somehow, that just sounds like sacrilege. >:^(

And I'd like to think I would've said something to that nurse, but who knows...

Word!! on this. And ask for her again, or make an appointment when she's there--I bet she has a line of grateful patients!
I did the odd thing with the tital of the post too. I was morphing True Blood with Upstairs Downstairs for a minute there, which sounds like kinda *fun*, honestly. Okay, not everybody could handle Lafayette in their kitchen screaming at people, but it works for me...

heh - yes, I realised that after I'd posted it. *giggles*

Thanks for the click - I'm attempting to collect just hatched hatchies but it's difficult! I've discovered that they can still develop wings AFTER you've frozen them. Flipping nuisance.

Thank you! My arm aches like billi-o - probably because she was "confident" (read aggressive) sticking the needle in, but hell, I'll swap "many holes" for "aching" anytime.

The nurse here had no choice, they are only allowed three goes, and there was only one nurse at my surgery, so she had to send me off to the hosp. Outrageous that that service costs money over there. But then there are many outrageousness with your health system!

I think she had a name badge on, but I forgot to look. Probably pointless, if I ever need to go again, she'll have moved on.

You can't ask for a specific person sadly. I'm sure they are all as efficient. It was just such a nice change.

I had enough blood problems last night for me to never want to see the stuff again in my life.

Seriously? I didn't know that about the hatchies. I never freeze anything so I wasn't aware that they could get wings after freezing took place.
