Lili’s Space Invader

This is my laptop bag. I assume it’s very warm because it’s made of neoprene. Lili discovered it a few weeks ago and because I’m soft I let her sleep on it (why not, everything else is covered in white hair after all) – but  yesterday Lucius decided it was a great place to sleep. Lili is completely incapable of sharing, so she just crawled on top of him.

Written a soul – sucking synopsis today of Mere Mortals. Why is writing such fun, and synopses so DULL.

The amusing thing is that no matter what Lili did to try and wake him up - or to get him to move he didn't even open his eyes. She licked his ear for about ten minutes and it was really wet, then she licked the top of his head, and he just didn't move. Then she gave up.

Anytime you need a synopsis, just ask. It's infinitely easier to synopsize another writer's story than to sum up one's own.

You did marvellously with Junction X, so I'll definitely take you up on that in future, this wasn't too difficult, becaues it was just a case of "then this happens" whereas I couldn't do JX like that.

Synopses are dull because a) you already told yourself the story and you really don't need to tell it to yourself again and b) it's very hard to sum up what happens when you know perfectly well how important every little detail is. So you struggle because you don't know how to sum everything up. (At least those are my problems with synopses.)
