Blood test day today – the nurse I had didn’t manage to get anything, so she called on a phlebotomist who got it first time. Phew. They are so nice, so professional, so pleasant. It’s almost nice to be there. I’m sure I’ll be on first name terms in no time at all, really.

Then they phoned me—which was slightly alarming – to tell me that my INR (the blood thinness, or International normalized ratio,) was too high – at 6, so I need to reduce my pills from today rather than tomorrow. I feel happier less less rat poison, it has to be said.

Eye check up yesterday – they still aren’t giving me any clue as to what is causing it - (unsurprising, as they aren’t doing any bloody TESTS, and I said so too.) I had a bit of a strop, and said that if there WAS a tumour, then it would be bloody inoperable by now, considering that they weren’t even looking for it. The doctor i saw (different one every time, although they all report to a mythical Mr Watson who no-body has ever seen…) indicated that it was quite possible the eyes may never get any better than they are now, which is unacceptable. I AM driving, obviously – despite the fact I shouldn’t be, because it costs me £30 a time by taxi to get to the hospital and back at least, and sometimes I have to go to the hospital twice a day – and that’s not even taking into consideration going to Dad’s. So I’m going to try doing more exercises – and working daily without the film over the lens. Eyes are adaptable. I once saw a programme where they put glasses on people to make them see upside down – and with a day or two, the eyes had adapted, and were making them see normally. Or Jesus – surely there’s something surgical they can do?  I refuse to beleive I’m going to be grounded for the rest of my life.
