Tablet update
Nov. 11th, 2010 07:24 pmThe music doesn’t work, so it might still go back, but otherwise I’m very pleased. Here’s some pictures of me reading a book on it – the reflection is from the hospital lights, but you don’t get any noticeable glare that I could see – and I’m NEVER going to be reading it outside. Anytime I’m reading outside I want to be able to fall asleep at any moment and not 1. break my nose by dropping my book and 2. destroying my book as it falls to the sand, in the water, onto the flagstones of the garden and 3. getting mugged while i’m asleep.
It takes a bit of getting used to, it works better with the stylus than a finger and sometimes it’s a bit too sensitive and will turn over five pages at a time – and I can’t find any way to bookmark my place, and have to scroll back to where I was, there probably IS, but not obvious.
I also can’t work out how to import pdfs into my library – there’s a file function but not sure how to use it – the booklet isn’t very helpful, being in Chinanglish.
However, I haven't had any problems with format - I don't have to convert anything - it reads word, xls, ppt, pdf, kindle and probaly others.

make sure to put them in a dedicated folder though or accidental bricking will ensue
