my week and yay for wine
Apr. 7th, 2011 06:56 pmDad's had to give up his driving licence so this week has been very very stressy. He can't remember about the licence and one minute he's understanding and the next minute he's angry. I've had to tell him a story and say that it's "because he's 82 and all drivers stop at 82" which seems to be working. (and realistic, after all there's a set age to start, there should be a set age to stop.) The real story is far too long to explain to him and he wouldn't be able to process the concepts behind it. I've taken his car keys away and I'll just have to field every call he makes when he says "I can't find my car keys." It will probably take a few weeks before he gets the hang of it—and I need to sell the car in the interim. That will help in the long run but of course we'll then have to deal with "where's the car?"
Writing therefore is just about impossible. Can't get Dad to keep quiet for more than five minutes—not that I want to shut him up, but the constant repetition of conversations takes so much time. If you haven't had the same conversation six times in a day, then I don't recommend you try it.
I've been trying to finish a 3k short story all week. all I need to do is the sex. "all" – she says… I just read Ava March's "Bound Forever" and the sex is so accomplished, I can hardly write sex at all these days. I shall get that finished tomorrow and will push on with the new WIP – still tentatively called Gentleman of Fortune and I don't want it to be called that, to be honest. I shall perhaps have to have a naming competition or summat.
How many days to Westeros? Hodor?
