I actually finished a video-game today.  (Farenheit AKA The Indigo Prophecy)

This is a rarity for me. I have, literally hundreds of games because, like books, I can't bear to part with the ones I enjoy, but OMG I've finished a bare handful of them.  Not even Prisoner of Azkaban which is *headdesk* suitable for 3 year olds upwards. I can't finish the last screen with the masses of Dementors. *pathetic*  (Now it's broken and I can't finish it anyway. Bah.)

Am considering whether I'll be getting a Playstation 3.  I don't know if I will, actually, and this upsets me more than I like to admit to, as I've had games consoles since they were invented with Pong back in 1975. I've had a Playstation since conception, and whilst I've been a huge supporter, the Playstation  has never really developed its potential and has continued to have all the sorts of games I most dislike made over and over and over e.g. racing, shooting (although Timesplitters was good) and sports games.

what I love most of all are the "point and click" adventures, and whilst there were quite a few of those available for the PS1, I think as far as I know that there was only one ever made for the PS2 and that was Broken Sword 3.  It's very unlikely that the developers will ever make them for the PS3!!  So what I might do - when I get my new PC for Xmas (mother has given me £400 so I should be able to get a decent base unit for that) I'll keep this PC for gaming only and strip everything else out of it.  Then go back, via ebay and other places, and find some of the point and click classics I never played.

But *sigh* I'll wait and see. As Europe is on Sony's Naughty Not Nice List we (once again) won't be getting it until Spring 07, and it will (once again) be twice the price of the units in the US and Japan, so (once again) I'll wait until 1. The price drops and 2. what the games seem to be like.  If it's more of the same I'll have to content myself with what I've got.

Back to work tomorrow. Yuk.

Over the past 2 weeks I've spent time and fantasies thinking about my latest novel wip, and have made a couple of discoveries/decisions.  I was worried that it had NO PLOT but [livejournal.com profile] rwday and [livejournal.com profile] gehayi pointed out - very rightly - that its substance will be the plot. The decisions that the main character makes will be the plot, and the way that people react to it will be the plot.  I suppose that - as a surburban drama - I was just worried that it wasn't a big dramatic sweeping saga like Standish and Transgressions, taking in world events and world travel.  Junction X is  going to be very claustrophobic, all based in one street, most of it in one house - so naturally it will be a smaller stage, the emotion will have to take the place of the Huge Sweeping element.  I don't know whether I can do it, actually, encompass such huge emotions into one person's POV.  But one can only try, I suppose.  I could do with an unhappy love affair right about now. That'd help. *G*

Anyway, ignore me, I'm just rambling, trying to get my thoughts together.

How's everyone else?

Aw. Luff you too. I can never remember the code for the heart picture. But imagine it here.

Nod. I understand that the PS2 is going to be able to DO heaps of stuff, but I'm just going to wait. the PS2 does enough for me and until I have Broadband, I've never even taken advantage of all that the PS2 can do! No eyetoy, No online gaming! *is so sad*

And no, you can't! But you should be able to soon! stay tuned!
