Another lovely review for Standish! This time at Romance Reviews Today. Whee!

Highly recommended, she says, but she found the ending too ambiguious. I knew some people wouldn't like it, but that is how it has to be - specially when you are writing about male love in 1820! It's not like they could get married and live happily ever after!

But whee! I'm very pleased.

Heck, most places now, they couldn't get married and have a HEA. Congrats on the review.

Here in Italy we struggle for a law named PACS who allows gay couple to be considered as a family for the italian law: if the law will pass a gay couple that decides to make a Pacs (like a laical ceremony similar to a marriage) will have the same right of a husband and wife. ciao, elisa

Yes, that was recently introduced here, well, a year ago now. But theres still too many places where they can't.

I don't know if in Italy we succeded to obtain that law. There is too many opposition from the conservatory party. The main objection is that here in Italy we have the pope so we "can't" have a similar law and that fifty years ago our fathers have wrote in the Constitution that the Italian family is based on the marriage so no legal marriage = no legal family... what absurdity!

No, it's still infuriating that even with a civil partnership they get prejudice.

and thanks!

Very nice review. :-) Even if she felt the ending was too ambiguous, she's looking at it specifically from a romance viewpoint, and she *still* liked the book overall.
