Whee! I have a kink!

I always regretted I didn't have a kink. I was never into cross-dressing, men in silk panties and dresses just didn't do it for me, bloodplay ditto, watersports and scat - ick. Fisting - intriguing but ouch and not sexy anyway... I felt horribly vanilla.
But writing cross-generational snoggage in JX, I suddenly realised I have a mild kink for hot hot older men, like McKewan, with young men just out of adolescence. Yum. It's my kink, however small.
And Standish got Five Stars! At Just Erotic Romance Reviews. It's not on the site yet because the newsletter it was in is about a month ahead of the site update, so I'll post the text here under a cut. I'm very pleased - Three out of three decent website reviews. Thanks, btw to Lee Rowan for spotting this.

At the turn of a card, the Standish family lost their glorious home estate and many of the privileges granted to the wealthy. Despite their dire circumstances, the family managed to survive. Ambrose Standish was a delicate soul with a big heart and many dreams that he never thought would come true. Before his father died, he passed down his love for the old home and the dream of living within its walls once again. Then one day he met Rafe Goshawk. His family was partly responsible for Ambrose’s difficult
financial circumstances, yet he found himself greatly attracted to the olderman. Eventually, the feelings of animosity lessen and the
two become very close, beginning a tragic love story that spans time.
I love discovering knew authors and publishing houses. If Standish was any indication of what P.D. Publishing <http://www.pdpublishing.com> and Erastes has to offer, I’m going to be the first person in line dying to spend my money.
Standish was not just a novel it was an epic. From the beginning, the characters appealed to me. Rafe and Ambrose were the key
factors in the story. The novel was really all about the two men, the bond they came to share, and the inner demons that kept trying
to tear them apart. Oh, the drama was never ending in this tale. I loved it. Just when things would get comfortable, Erastes would throw a curve ball that would have me zooming through the pages to find out how it was all going to end.
Standish was the kind of novel that a person skips several hundred pages to the last one just to make sure it was concluded properly. This tale lacked nothing. The plot was well thought out with enough twists to keep the reader interested and on their toes. The sex was there, but it did not over stimulate the senses. It was rare for the author to go into detail when writing sex scenes, but not everyone can be a sex freak.
The more pages I consumed the greater my appreciation grew for the story. I’m pleased to have read Standish and I am waiting on baited breath to see what Erastes comes up with next.

What I find interesting is that this reviewer thought the sex was less rather than more, and one of the other reviewers thought that it was a bit TOO hot. :)
And oh dear, America. I do feel sorry for you, as if one thick-as-a-plank leader wasn't enough, now you are getting Victoria and David? Oh she is going to LOVE it there. Just love it. David, why did you listen to HER?

Date: 2007-01-15 11:48 pm (UTC)Who are Victoria and David?

Date: 2007-01-16 09:01 am (UTC)And they are Victoria and David Beckham, Victoria was Posh Spice from the Spice Girls and David is (was) as he only plays for England now, one of our best footballer. He is rather stunning, if spectacularly dim. She considers herself to be the next Princess Diana in terms of style and fashion...
Their house here was called Beckingham Palace... I am still in shock that he's signed to an American soccer team - he's too damned good for that, and it's obvious that she is the guiding light behind it, and that she wants the Hollywood lifestyle.

Date: 2007-01-16 10:24 am (UTC)But...he married a Spice Girl? Well. There's no accounting for tastes.
I doubt if he'll get the exposure he's used to in America. I know that ESPN and ESPN2 televise soccer sometimes, but not the major stations.

Date: 2007-01-16 12:32 am (UTC)Also I have a kink for story about older man (or womam) with young man: I just finished On Fire by Drew Zachary and I bought it for this reason.
When I was young I like older men: at 12/13 years old my eyes lays on 25/26 years old men... Now I'm 32 years old and my eyes still lays on 25/26 years old men... so my tastes aren't changed in 20 years!!!
