Ok its only day 3 and far too early to be getting cocky, but I’m most pleased that I am getting into a routine with this.

Routine for those of you who are interested

(1) If I’m awake before 7 then I’ll go on line then. This is likely to be a very rare occurrence as I’m not a morning person, sadly even if Lucius was spooned behind me with a salami all ready for the partaking of at 630 am I’d tell him to bog off. If I do go on line then, I won’t write but take the opportunity of reading any overnight email and replying.

(2) Work: 9am. Quickly check email if I haven’t done it at (1). Reply to any overnight after_survivor game posts. Any email can wait till later.

(3) Work 1300hrs. One hours lunch. Write. Aim to get at least 300 words done. If you get 300 words done, swiftly check flist/emails/game/messenger. (only an hour – argh!!)

(4) Home: 1800hrs. Make a swift dinner and spend some time with neglected cats. Watch some tv, even if its only something I videoed during the day.

(5) Home 1900rs turn on PC, let it do its stuff, downloading etc and go and have relaxing and very bubbly bath. (this is done in the dark, with candles) Start thinking about what you have to write next.

(6) Home 2000hrs. out of bath. Four hours to write. Aim for 1666 words for day.

(7) 0000hrs. Bed.

I’ve pleased that so far I have managed to strike a balance, without hundreds of IM-ing messages, I’m confident that I can still continue to write and RPG at the same time. However, thinking last night that 50K words will probably NOT finish Transgressions, but I could be wrong.

I suppose I’ve always shied away from a routine, as it seems very “anti” the whole creative process, but as I’m the least disciplined person I know this is obviously good for me.

Regarding Snipettes. I don’t expect anyone to read them. I know how busy everyone is, and I won’t be able to read everyone’s work, (a) because of the routine and busyness – and (b) because I get discouraged if someone else is writing fabulously and I am writing pages and pages of boring but necessary exposition or they are up to 20K words when I’m still on 3K.

So don’t get hurt if I don’t read, and I won’t get hurt if you don’t. Deal?

Was typing out replies to the other solicitor’s enquiries today and noticed that he had put: “The Landlord is not aware of any breeches.”

I had to stop myself spitting out my tea all over my keyboard.
