You thought that girls being called Chardonnay and Chablis were a new invention!? Not according to the Regency Name Generator which lists CHAMPAGNE as a girl's first name!

Someone has just pointed out at work that my heroine has a silly name and she's right. I can't call the poor girl Emily with a surname of Pelham. Emily Pelham.. Oh dear. Trouble is I LIKE Emily. Perhaps I'll just have the girl mention that she'd be glad to change her name as it's been a trouble to her for years.

*still hiding from fandom - and in the light of an online version which may or may not be fake, I'm GLAD I'm hiding*

I don't get the problem with her name either, sounds rather nice to me. Maybe it's just something your ultra posh accent brings out that us common folk can't hear?
