I'm more and more impressed with these books, the skeins are becoming more tangled as we move on, but thank God no sign of any bloody prophecies.

The humour is black, english and funny when it hits - one of the Whaling Cities is called Diana Princess of Whales which made me lose my tea.  But what impressed me recently is that he just introduced gayness with such elegant simplicity that I found myself staring at JKR and going "See? That's how to do it."

Basically there's a house with slaves, and the owner of the slaves is a big opera buff and she keeps the male and females apart as much as she can because she knows what tragic things can happen if male and female slaves get together.  However (and this is a paraphrase as the book is upstairs) "as will often happen, girls fell in love with girls and boys with other boys but because this had never happened in her operas, she didn't see it happening."

Perfect.

As for HEROES - why isn't it on every day?  Why do I have to wait a week?  ARGH!!!!

Go here http://tv-links.co.uk/listings/1

It's a real nifty site.

Re: fandom. Man, I don't know what to say. Will look out for that quartet of books though.

Thanks hun...

BUT WAH!!!!! Dial-up! Impossible!

fandom. I've had it. Really and truly. Had it.

I've nearly finished the final book, and boy they are so so so good. What an imagination - just good solid adventure stories with a ton of gore, zombies, robot cities and the world tears itself to pieces. Marvellous stuff.

Dial up?!

Ugh, rubbish! If you had a pal with high speed internets you could probably watch it at theirs - or ask 'em to burn dvds for you.

Yeah, fandom has gone batshit. I know that people are moving to Greatest Journal, Insane Journal and the rest, but I'm not going to chase it down.

It's been grand, and I've learnt a fair lot, but things do come to an end, and we should move on.

I'm trying to buy your novel on Amazon.co.uk - do you realise that this is the second time I've tried to buy it, only for the damned thing to be sold out?

I might have to pay a visit to my local Waterstones.

I noticed this morning there were only 4 left. Whee! Four in day! Ok - JKR sold 1.4 million in 10 minutes. Meh so what.

I know a couple of people have tried Smiths and Waterstones to no avail, and that's because PD Publishing don't have a UK Distributor - they are looking into it. But no harm in asking them, I suppose !

BUT a friend in Chesterfield has asked her library to order it - apparently they will do, even if they have to buy it from Amazon.
