Cough cough cough cough cough cough.....

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] tillytilly!

Wow - looks like the occasional free story is good - my website went bananas yesterday - and for October I had 10,000 hits. *faints*

Thanks to everyone for yesterday, it was a tough day, being the first birthday without mother, and consequently no major present and no themed cake, but it wasn't really as bad as I thought it was going to be because I had an inrush of love from you lot and that's wonderful.

I wish JKR would just crawl into a hole and STFU. After hearing this morning that she's suing The Lexicon to prevent a pre-emptive dictionary coming out, now she's written The Tales of Beedle the Bard but only one will be sold off (until she looks the other way, and the other six people flog them off too)(I would)

The only thing I can say is that I'm glad I'm not writing in her fandom anymore.

Coughs are not good :(

Glad your birthday wasn't so bad and that's another "first" over which hopefully makes next year easier to deal with. I found a brilliant card for you today so you may have to have a not-a-birthday-card!!!!

JKR is sinking lower in my estimation. I really dislike this "creeperie" she has - things for special friends and so on. Maybe I'm jealous or evil or something but she's getting out of hand.

Completely out of hand - and she says she's got two new books started! After all that "I won't write anything for a while"

Sheesh. Slebs. I hate 'em.

Heee!! I can't help feeling a bit more effort into the seventh of that origianl series of hers wouldn't have gone amiss instead of handwriting crap!

I was tap-tapping on laptoppy this morning when the news came on and I noticed JKR and I immediately thought they were going to talk about the "JKR does murder/detective book"...but no...there was a jeweller setting pink stones in skulls eyes upon leather book covers. GAhhhhh! *pulls hair out*

*goes to look on E-bay to see if said books are already there*

Lolzzzzzzzzzz.

In re birthdays - did you see that you share yours with Dick Francis (whose books I don't really go for) and HRF Keating (whom I think is great!)

*many hugs*

I wish she'd also publish it in facsimile, the real books handcreated and bound in leather would be collectible enough as they are.

The birthdays thing is in the Telegraph and I was curious as to who (whom? - grammar brain iz ded today) you shared with.

That icon was made by >lj user="calavarna"> who also did my LJ lay out. Clever bunny.

That's good. I don't see anything awful in what she's doing. Of course I don't follow the fan fiction at all, but there seems to be a lot of it and I love the original series. More in that vein would be a lot of fun for me.

Hehehe, the one fanfic thing that I did was some RPG gaming, and oddly enough I wound up reverse-slashing a gay character! I had Dumbledore romantically involved with McGonagall because they were both rather goodlooking old people with very reserved manner, it rang true that they might not let on there was anything between them if there was due simply to teacher closet about anything short of marriage. Now to find out Dumbledore was gay, that rocks, but it leaves my favorite cat without a love life.

It would be fun to write fanfic if I had the time. I'm doing three nanowrimos though and there's no way I could give the time to an unpublishable McGonagall romance...

Sorry, I'm afraid I'm not joking - sorry ... Would love to have the website URL - unless you mean the Speak its Name or the Erotic Authors one - which I have both on my favs!

So sorry I'm being thick ...

Slinks away, tail between legs.

It seems a bit ridiculous to criticise her for this. I'm sure there are plenty of authors who decide they're going to give it a break for a while, only to realise they have ideas that demand to be written, or that they miss writing, or many other reasons.

And I don't really see what's wrong with the handwritten fairytale book. Why does it bother you so much?

I'm staggered - it's on my profile, my myspace, my LJ front page, linked from just about everywhere!!

The book doesn't bother me at all - she's perfectly able to do anything she likes it's just all the inconsistencies and publicity chasing she's doing with it.

"I've finished the last book, and now I've said goodbye to that world, it was hard, but it was final"

"I'm going to do an encyclopedia, then that will be it"

"I've written this handwritten book, it needed oto be done and it's a good bye to that world."

I don't resent her one penny of her fame and fortune, but I wish to god's sake her PR people would just remind her what she's said previously - she's always been the same over canonical facts of her own world though (which is why, even if I were in fandom, I wouldn't be relying on her own encyclopedia but would stick to the Lexicon, as that gets it far more accurate than she does)
