Plagiarism so bloody blatant?  I can’t remember exactly where that rose sub-plot story came from – A Herriot book, or a Wodehouse, or The Railway Children, something of that ilk - (aristocrat is awarded best rose of the village every year because of who she is, whereas a humble gardener really deserves it) but it was lifted almost entirely intact from wherever I remember it.

Shame on you, Downton Abbey – I’m very disappointed with you.
