Torchwood-bloody excellent

I WAS sceptical, I admit it, when I heard the franchise was moving to the US—but it's a joint BBC ANd US enterprise and there are series that the US do really really well – and I have to say that TW is looking fucking brilliant. If the BBC had it at the moment, it would probably be a 3 episode series, as that seems to be the standard at the moment. I have no idea what the USA number will be, BUT its taking its time and its running true to the original< and i'm loving it!!

 

What I'm Not Loving is a dance with dragons which is so dull I can't bear it.  There will be a full and frank and frankly dull, spoilery review when i finish the damned thing, but as I am having to force myself to read any of it, god knows when that will be. If you want a lesson is how to write passive characters (who were previously not) and how to write "well, Bob" chapters, then you can do no better than to emulate GRRM. I can't believe how cruddy it is.
