If you’re a UK GLBT romance author wanting to do a little promo, or a reader who wants to hang out with the UK Meet Acquisitions Team*authors and chat about jellied eels or some such suitably British topic (yeah, go on, you know you want to!), then come along to Love Romances Cafe tomorrow! (2nd August)

The have a session booked tomorrow at LRC for UK GLBT authors – and you’re all welcome! It’s a chance for us to twist the spotlight on to the UK, after the success of this year’s UK Meet and the publication of Tea & Crumpet, to which many generous authors contributed.

Love Romances Cafe

From 12pm EST (5pm GMT) we can introduce ourselves and post excerpts of any of our work. Then we’d love as many of you as possible to follow up with some friendly chat at 3pm EST (8pm GMT) for a couple of hours.

All contests and excerpts welcomed.

And of course you don’t have to be in the UK or write about the UK to come and join us for the fun!

*that’s me, Charlie Cochrane, JL Merrow, Josephine Myles and Clare London :)
(wording nabbed from Charlie and Jo and Alex – cheers!)

It's so CLOSE, I can hardly breathe. Humid and airless and hot. Yuk. It's just started to rain a little bit - which hopefully will do something to alleviate matters.

My dad's gardener "Bob The Gardener" has just dumped us, and I'm a bit annoyed about it, tbh. Didn't even have the courtesy to ring or call round, but left a hand delivered letter saying that he didn't have enough to keep him busy for 2 hours a fortnight(!!). Well, it's not THAT well-maintained, let me tell you! I can see weeds from where I sit now. Finding another gardener mid-season? Good luck.

What makes me paranoid is that on his last visit, he heard me talking to dad about writing, and asked me what I wrote and of course I told him. Possibly he looked me up and decided he didn't want to be tainted with the gay in case it rubbed off. If so, then cheers.

I've imported all my posts and comments etc from Livejournal. Don't know how useful that is, but I suppose it's nice to have a back up, it's been so many years, I suppose I'd like to keep the entries.

Cannot get connected for some reason – two days now. Whether that's because it's the school hols and the people who share their networks aren't around, or what, I don't know. But instead I have been writing. Hurrah!  I really really need to get I Knew Him finished by end of August, and I think that's doable, IF – big IF – I put the work in.

I'll be getting edits for Junction X AND the novel previously known as Chiaroscuro soon, so I need to get finished.

Torchwood was excellent. I'm really enjoying it. I think the people who don't like it aren't used to a long story line. It used to be Monsters Arrive—TW deals with it—end of story, but this is stretching out and I'm loving the ride, the character building etc. I DON't like Esther. At All but she'll probably be Neville in the end.

Sirens has finished. Sob. I love that show. More please and fast!  It's based on a book, so don't know if it will be continuing, but hoping so. They've left enough up in the air to do it.

True Blood was all a bit patchy, trying to cover too many bases at once and not really progressing much at all. Not that I'm a nakedness freak, I don't mind gratuitious nakedness (under a CUT on LJ  Though…) so why has TB (which used to have a LOT of it) gone all coy? Everyone makes love with all their clothes on now?  One thing that makes me laugh about American TV – apparently all the women leave their bras on during sex.

Yeah, right, as if its not the second item that men remove.
