I'm so cold I can't type straight.  This place is NOT warm, and this corner where the PC is is the coldest part of the room.  Already had a bath to warm up but that's worn off. And to add insult to injury, the snow has not settled.

Is anyone listening to Bleak Expectations on Radio Four?

The idyllic life of young Pip Bin is ruined by the scheming of his exceedingly evil guardian, Mr Gently Benevolent, and his incarceration in Britain's most violent school, St Bastards.

Pip's best friend is called Harry Biscuit and the baddie is played by Anthony Head.  It's the most delicious mix of Great Expectations, Tom Brown's schooldays and a load of other Victorian novels, and hilarious with it.  "I was so relieved to see Harry Biscuit that I clutched him to me in a manly embrace. Not in any detestable unnatural way, you understand!"

I am sure you can listen to radio 4 (or any of them?) on the webpage? I know the tv thing doesn't work for people abroad, but Radio Announcers are always reading out letters from people in all corners of the globe. Give it a try

I always listen to the six thirty comedy show on my way back from work and found it by accident, but it is so funny!

Eep! Do you know whether they sell that as audiobook or radioplay on CD? It sounds brilliant.

Exquisite, thank you for the link! :D I'm also really thrilled that the Beeb has begun to make a lot of audio- and video material readily available in their download section, that's a smart move on their side.

Our snow stuck. *swanks* :P

Actually we only had a little bit last night and it's mostly gone today, still a few patches in the shade but that's about it. But I'm freezing too. We lit the fire this evening!
