And yes, I mean Harry Dresden again, not that passive idiot.  I've just been watching the first four episodes of The Dresden Files on DVD and whilst they bear almost completely NO resemblence to the books (I'm just watching Jim Butcher skipping off happily to the bank and NOT looking back - good for him) I thoroughly enjoyed them.  I can't imagine why they are not showing them here - when we had to suffer the simply awful Tarzan and other such things from the US.  TDFs are well acted, the special effects are sparingly done which makes them more believable and good stories too.

I do miss Harry's cat, Mister - and the Blue Beetle.  However, having a Jeep makes a lot of sense. Few electrics (like the Beetle) reliable and has readily available spare parts.  I suppose the programme makers didn't want to have him in a FOREIGN car!! How shocking.

I don't know if Thomas the incubus-type-vampire is going to make an appearance in the TV series but I do hope so... and I hope he looks like my Sirius!!

I am Susan Rodriguez.

I was a reporter -- and a damned good one. My beat was the supernatural, and my paper was the Midwestern Arcane. I've investigated Elvis sightings, disappearing cities, faerie kidnappings, werewolf rampages, and sarky but irresistable wizards.

Then curiosity got the best of me. The monsters I tried to understand and shed light on caught up with me. Now I'm practically one of them -- held off with the help of the Order of St. Giles.

Now I am the news -- only nobody bothers to report it. The Red Court may be at war with the wizards, but they'd do well to watch their backs. The Order already is.

I suppose everyone is absent because they are watching the Superbowl. It doesn't start here until 11pm - and I wouldn't, I'm afraid, be watching it if it was on at 2pm!  *makes face*

As I recall, the VW went because when the actor playing Harry got out of it, the mismatch between his height and the size of the car made him look like a clown.

*giggling* Now I'm seeing a stream of people emerging from the car...

It was shown in the UK, on Sky 1 where i watched it, on a wednesday night at nine pm, so it's not bloodties arscrack of the middle of the night on miscellaneous girl channel on satellite either.
it was reasonably well recieved too.

That was a fun series and it's a serious bummer that it was cancelled. :( I've only read the first of the books so far, but I like them both. I think I like TV!Bob a little better than book!Bob, though, and I definitely like TV!Morgan better -- yummy!

It's a very peculiar thing - I'm actually enjoying both equally which is rare for me, I get grumpy normally when I watch a show that's changed as much as this one is - but for some strange reason, it all works very well! Bob and Morgan are both lovely, although I do miss Thomas and Mister and Michael a LOT.

My Best Friends have the DVDs of TDF, and showed me two episodes over New Year. Pretty good, and having read the first book and a half by that time (thank you!), I could see where they were the same and where they were different. Quite enjoyable!
