Bugger all on the TV. Sevvie seems to be OK but he's still off the Vet tommorrow. My work is the nice kind of place where taking time off to take an "aminal" to the vet is frowned on, so I'll have to take a day's leave or half a day or something. They are nice like that. Caring individuals, "Investors in People." Yep, they've got the award, but god knows how they got it. Got the Stepford Employees to meet the Awarders, probably.

I read "Lord John and the Hell-fire Club" last night. *blinks* Did I miss something? Was there supposed to be a plot in there somewhere? A mystery? An adventure? I certainly was expecting all three, but they seem to be spectacularly missing. Granted, the author says that it was her first short story and that she was invited to contribute for some anthology or other but .. really. It is spectacularly DULL. It could easily have left out the OMG ITS JAMIE ITS JAMIE ITS JAMIE HE'S GOT RED HAIR JUST LIKE JAMIE OH NO, ACTUALLY HE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE JAMIE HIS HAIR IS A DIFFERENT COLOUR AND OMG I HOPE HE'S NOT GOT BLUE EYES OH NO IT'S OK HE DOESN'T and OMG HE'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE KEEP CALM KEEP CALM KEEP CALM DON'T GIVE YOURSELF AWAY. and AWWWWW JAMIE I WUV YOU AND MISS YOU and simply got on, yanno, with THE STORY. I'm sooo glad I didn't read this one before I read any of the other Lord John stories because I wouldn't bother with another one. Ho hum. On to Lord John and the Succubus...

I received "The Prince and Him" today. It's about 10 pages long. and it came in a box that was bigger than my DVD player. Completely overpriced, if I may say so, but a rather interesting addition to the Gay fiction market, if rather too simplistic a story, even for a child's bed-time.

Well, better go and do something less fun.

I wasn't impressed with Hellfire Club, either, though I enjoyed "LJ & the Private Matter," a lot more than the last couple of "Outlander" sequels. Thought the character death in Hellfire was an awful waste of a potentially intersting character, and, yeah, where's teh plot? Then again, I never really thought Jamie was anything to write home about, much less leap through time for.

Good luck with the vet visit!

Yes - In fact I've been put off ever reading Outland because of Lord John's obsession. I liked The Private Matter too, for sure.

Thanks!

True! This wouldn't have satisfied me, even at age three, though, it's far far too short. Good concept, not complaining about that, but I'd rather the prince had to win over Fair Young Man rather than endure Trial by Kissing all the maidens in the Country.

:D
