Lincolnshire earthquake of 5.3

God Smote Me!!

OK - it's one county over, and I'm possibly the only person in England who slept through it, but still!

Missed me, Republicans!

Slept right through. But I slept through the 1987 hurricane in London.

Me too!

Hopeless!

Insult some republicans, see what happens.

This could be a scientific study!

I slept through it. If it even reached Sussex, that is.

Hmm... maybe we should make a meme

"Insult Republicans! Inncur the Wrath of God! Document your evidence to prove that God really does love them!"

Or maybe not.

*lol*
And I thought it was retribution because of *my* recent sins... LOL

I actually felt it, here in London. I slept through the Big Storm in the past and various falling stars and eclipses etc, so I feel I had my share of exciting Acts of God at last!
^_^

I was awake(ish), but I do live almost directly over the Northern Line. So if I heard/felt anything, which I don't specifically remember doing, I'd probably just assume it was a train going past.

So your idea is that the Republican party controls the forces of nature? Sounds like just what they'd want you to believe.

::snerk:: I was awake, actually, and I felt the ground shaking, but I just thought it was my imagination. Apparently not!

I woke up, as I usually do, a few minutes beforehand (that's what comes of being born on the side of a volcano). I'm lying there thinking, Why am I awake? Hello, why is my bed swaying from side to side? Wot is that rumble? Can I be arsed getting out of bed and standing under the doorframe? (like that would do me any good in an English house) Rumble rumble. What if the bedroom ceiling falls down again? (pulls duvet over head and hangs on grimly).

It was a long one. I don't like long ones. And I'm 150 miles away. It must have been seriously freaky near the epicentre.

The TV was hilarious. Gobsmacked teen girl: "We didn't know what it was! We didn't know what to do! We didn't know whether to cry or not!" (hint: earthquake etiquette dictates that you wait till the wardrobe lands on your head before you start crying).

I advise waiting until handsome rescue crew arrives to sort out fallen wardrobe to start crying, myself. Start too soon and you don't look cute, you look like used tissue. Red blobby nose and ooky face, not so good. Or, if you're that able to time these things, y'know, don't start at all. Just wibble your lower lip gently and *threaten* to do so, much more effective. Ask any Companion!

My dad's dad's family emigrated to Oz from Lincolnshire!

HA! Missed me too! By a century or so! :D

This would be why all the flyover states are the ones that get trashed every year by tornadoes, while the sinful wicked coasts get off scot-free.

Considering all the hurricane-smiting in Texas and Florida over the past couple of years, I don't think it was about Republicans... Besides, any earthquake you can sleep through doesn't count as Wrath of God.
