I don't know of such a widget, but I'd definitely try expanding your search to widgets that turn from text documents to palm (since you can save as a txt document). Also, depending on which palm she has, she might be able to read mobipocket format, and I know mobipocket has freeware for turning doc or txt to mobipocket. Good luck!
I'm not sure - I don't think Documents-to-Go does that, does it? Exactly what format do they need - what's the extension, in other words? Because I have a friend who has been using Palms much longer than I have, and she's just got her LifeDrive back from being repaired, so I could ask her. It may be that you just need to do a 'Save As...' in Word to a particular format.
Electronic submissions may be sent to zanne@bookreview.com, and must be Palm compatible. If your manuscript is in electronic text format, you can download a converter at http://www.peanutpress.com/makebook/
Please don't send us .pdf files. Would you want to print out an entire book on your printer in order to read it? Worse yet, would you want to sit at your computer for several hours reading off the monitor? Well, neither do we.
I don't know the first thing about Palm or any readers.
Well. Have you tried the converter, then? I'd assume that 'electronic text' might mean .txt, so it would be worth looking at the converter to see what formats it uses/needs.
easyPDB (http://www.download.com/Easy-PDB/3000-2363_4-10134321.html?tag=pub) converts DOC to PDB. If that's not quite what you're looking for, I found a bunch of examples by googling "convert DOC to PDB" (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=convert+doc+to+pdb&btnG=Google+Search).
I also know of one that converts txt, html and pdf to mobi pocket reader format. Since you seem to have got what you needed, I'm just mentioning it here, it's available from the mobipocket developers center
