SURELY the prisoner should be facing the wall??
And in other, less - erm... big red weapon news.... Congratulations toI'm really enjoying these books - I didn't think I was going to, because they started so slowly, frankly nothing much happens in the first HUGE book other than meeting all the characters but the slow layering of characters and plot and back story was necessary because the tension has really racked up in book 2. I really like Kennit, which is probably completely sick of me but he seems such a fascinating meld of profit and altruism. I can hardly ignore the blatant slashiness between him and Wintrow of course, which helps but god the man is sex on legs (or one leg, at least). I think where Hobb falls down is having too many sexy men in one book! And then there's the Fool, of course, being utterly adorable and living without Fitz. *smites him* Anyway - very enjoyable.

Date: 2008-07-04 05:28 pm (UTC)LOL! Even back in the day when I was all about fantasy, my fascinations were lurking beneath the surface. I don't remember any of the characters in these books at all - except for the ships and their life cycle (being vague to avoid spoilers). But I loved all the non-humans. Probably says something very sad about me!
