new website design

I couldn't manage the Word Press based one, and it wasn't fair to rely on the kindness of my flist whenever I needed an update so another kind writer on my flist, even without being asked, and such kindness really staggers me - did me a new site. She said "Oh I didn't do nothing, it's just a template" but NO. It's some sort of black alchemy as far as I'm concerned.  I can manage an html site, but I can't create a decent one, I've tried and tried. Anyway - *fanfare*  Here's my new design! Pretty isn't it?

Very very nice - could just be my work computer but the title bar is about 1cm to the left of the text beneath it! (IE6)

I like it a lot, it's very pretty. But you know what my favorite part was? The wall-paper. It changes when moving to a different page! Not the pattern, just a different place in the pattern, like you're really going to look at a different part of the wall. :D I don't know if that was intentional, but I thought it was cool.

Agreed. Leave web design to those who can. I am an IT professional by day, however, web design and HTML does not fall within that job description. I paid a very talented young designer to create my website.

The drawback? If the site ever needs updated, she will need to do log in and do it--I am not even sure I remember the password!

Thank you! It's doesn't screen gay historical fiction but that's ok, hopefully people will get the gist quite quickly!

The good thing about this is that it's well coded - nice and clear and I can manage it pretty well with Front Page without mucking it up too badly I hope. Nothing much to add other than reviews and new books as they come out, and the embedded blog keeps people up to date too. I'll just have to remember to start flocking the more personal and silly stuff so it doesn't show up there!

Beautiful design. I have an unfinished website which desperately needs to be updated & I can't do it myself. I would be willing to pay (within reason) for help, but will ask the person who offered to do it one more time before looking elsewhere.

The fact that your site does not immediately scream gay historical fiction is a wonderful juxtaposition. I love the dichotomy of clean lines and neutral color choices and the zesty topics revealed in the words.

You can search for specific themes on the right side of the page. They've got some pretty cool templates, and the price is reasonable.
