Lethe Press has recently released "Best Gay Stories 2008" - which has my story about 1970's London punks in it (Drug Colours - excerpt here.

Watched two films over the past couple of days (Ok loads more than that, but you don't need to know what a couch spud I am) one of which was said to be good, and was awful - and the other I'd heard was awful and wasn't at all bad.

1. Blade Trinity. Like many, I really enjoyed the original Blade; not being a officianado of vampire canon, I found the take on it refreshing and loved the relationship between Whistler and Blade.  I don't remember what happened in Blade 2, to be honest so it couldn't have been too absorbing.  But I rather liked Blade Trinity.  Yes, Snipes was a wooden as a wooden thing from woodsville, but he always had been and he was keeping himself in check all his life, so he'd be like that, perhaps. I liked the dorky brigade, particularly the bloke - the girl was hot and had great weapons but she was rather the rock-chick type that has been done to death in Underworld and the like.  But yay!  I liked it - the action sequences were wonderful, and really - that's all we are there for aren't we? It's not like we are expecting plot.

2. The Producers.  Bleurgh.  Just bleurgh.  I adored the original and thought when the film came out that it was sacrilege to try and remake it. As much as I like Nathan Lane's (and some of Broderick's) work they aren't Mostel and Wilder and it was just awful. Buttock cringingly bad and not in the way it was supposed to be. I was so appalled by it, I turned it off before they got to the show and thereby missed John Barrowman as a blond Nazi. Curses.

I'm having to delist "Totally Looks Like" Blog, because I've never HEARD of 99 percent of these people - so how can I tell if they look like anyone else?)

I've done a very stupid thing - my Erastes Myspace and my Speakitsname Myspace have the same log ins.  So now I can't access the Erastes one.  Oops.  I've contacted them, but no response as yet... Is an idiot. Anyone know how I can solve this?  You really think that they wouldn't let you do such a pathetic thing, wouldn't you?

I had to switch off 'The Producers' too - only lasted about 15 minutes - glad I'm not the only one.

Just... awful. I find it hard to believe that it was such a success on stage, but it's a different medium, I suppose.

I thought the book title, from the pic, was Best Gag Stories, which, in certain circles, is appropriate.

Nobody is Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. There's a U-tube clip of JB doing the Nazi tapdance; he looks bizarre as a platinum blond, but having a gay singer doing the number is a nice bit of irony.
