Still in editing hell.
Oct. 7th, 2008 01:05 pmJust seen an advert for a writer who is offering a workshop on "how to write m/m." I had a look out of interest, as I'm always concerned that I'm not getting it right. What got me about this workshop is that I couldn't see that the author had even WRITTEN any m/m at all.
Now if that's not bandwagon jumping, then I don't know what is.
Have been editing. Am up to page 31. Will get to page 50 and have a break. It's not easy...
Finally got a bicoloured egg.two in fact!! This is good because bi colours will only breed with other bis.

Date: 2008-10-07 12:17 pm (UTC)I couldn't resist a red one; so, I have too many right now. Hopefully the three older eggs will hatch soon.

Date: 2008-10-07 01:10 pm (UTC)That workshop should, at the least, be interesting just to see how someone who doesn't seem to have written m/m fiction would teach it to others.
Also, you're dragons are CUTE!

Thanks! I'll be dumping the brightblue one, as it's a duplicate, I think.

Date: 2008-10-07 01:34 pm (UTC)I don't charge for it though. :/ If I was best selling print author, and perhaps the most prolific and best selling in GloBL, I might think of charging-- but I'm not.
While I'm all for bringing culture to uncorrupted [teaching good erotica authors to create better m/m erotica] I can't see why charging novices $15 to cultivate their ero-lit skills is helping anyone but the author make a few extra bucks. If you're an author looking for some cash-- write something, don't charge n00b writers.
/end high-horse.

Date: 2008-10-07 04:15 pm (UTC)Well, that's a creative approach I suppose. [bemused smile] Hey, maybe I can get a gig teaching people how to write a NYTimes bestseller? Or how to build a home theater in your house? Or how to be a winning Formula One driver...?

Also let's add in a "wtf?" from me about the writing m/m workshop. That's just craziness, but then...people no longer surprise me these days.
