Caffeine drinks rock. buzz buzz buzz.!!!

Thank you ALL who gave Sevvie good wishes re the lump.  The vet thinks it's just an abscess - been bitten by another cat which makes sense - so we have antibiotics. Oh joy. Pill giving to a cat - don't we all love that?

I'm so happy to hear that. I wanted to leavea a note yesterday, but as usual... I've kept my fingers crossed for Sevvie, though, and along with my fingers, 14 paws have been crossed here as well.

Pills - my best trick (works only with dumb cats) is to grind the tablet to a pulp and mix it through his favourite food. Then I hide away and just pray...

That never worked with me. My cat and dog would just sniff the food and then give me a betrayed "how dare you?" look.

Heh. Me too. Spooky could smell doctored food a mile off, and being a fussy eater anyway it was always wasted. I was so grateful when flea-drops came along because I could never get her to eat her food when it was flavoured with the liquid flea killing stuff.

But Sevvie's a greedy boy who will eat anything from crisps to chocolate so a nice piece of chicken will disguise it!

I didn't see the lump post before, but hurrah for not being anything too nasty! Abcesses are a pain, but they are fixable. Best of luck with the pill-giving, too.

I hadn't seen your other post - very glad Sevvie is okay! Good luck with the pill thing. Dogs are much easier, just stick the pill in a piece of meat and it's as good as swallowed, along with your fingers.

Apart from with my dad's dog. He's a DEMON. We have to take him to the vets to have injections rather than pills - he just won't swallow them. You can hold his mouth shut, rub his throat and he'll swallow. And then five minutes later he'll spit the pill out onto the carpet or you'll find it the next day in his beard!!!

Yay! I am glad Sev is going to be fine. Aeroshots has gotten into tussles and ended up with abscesses too.
