As much as I enjoy the silly awards such as the Razzies and the Bad Sex Awards, part of me has to acknowledge that these awards are aimed at Slebs. I mean I read FAR worse sex scenes than the nominated entries this year - almost every day. I get a huge amount of new release promo in my inbox daily and at least once a day I read some frankly appalling stuff which deserves to be in the Bad Sex Awards.  The thing is though, of course, is that the awards aren't really about the worst sex scenes published that year, they are only the mildly amusing sex scenes written by the biggest literary names of the year. People are going to feel far more superior reading the sporktastic prose of John Updike and Normal Mailer than they will discovering that actually the worst sex of the year was some elf/tree porn by some writer of an obscure ebook publisher no-one's heard of.

TRUE BLOOD !  What? Bill's never watched Buffy?  Couldn't he put a blanket over himself or something? Has he learned nothing in 200 years?  God I love this show.  And vampire/human  marriages get legalised!! oh the irony!  Argh!  Lafayette! *worries* Jason finds the Lord! *guffaws* I absolutely LOVE Bill's "daughter" and how annoying she is - and yes, I'm still in Lust with Eric, even though he seems to think that having his head on one side all the time is sexy.  Is is......

Thank you to everyone who commented on my "help me with names" post - a huge response and everyone was so helpful. I've found lots of new sites and bookmarked a ton of them - so if you are having the same problems, check it out. I love my flist.

Oh, True Blood. I did have the same reaction to Bill dashing off into the sunlight -- you'd think, being a vampire, that he'd have some sort of blanket or tarp on standby. Or at least one hopes he'd have it now.

I adore this show. Even though they killed Lafayette, who I will miss so much.

As for Flashman, my goodness! That is a very impressive bum in very tight trousers.

If I was ever made into a vampire the FIRST THING I would do would be to set up several savings accounts. Are these vampires so short sighted? I mean Angel is as poor as a church mouse and has to work for a living, Spike lives in a Crypt and Bill had to inherit his house from his family. You live 200 years, you are GOING TO MAKE MONEY so SAVE UP!!

I am very happy to have seen the show - don't know if we are ever likely to see it over here - and I will have to wait impatiently for the next series.

Actually in the books, Sookie lets Eric watch her Buffy DVDs cause she is shocked he never has watched the show. He thinks it is very funny.
I am hoping this happens in True Blood at some point.

They HAVE to have that scene that would be hilarious! It seemed slightly odd, though - as he knows so much about Vampire laws and rules and blah de blah that he didn't at least take a sunshade with him, or a blanket. Silly man.

I'm actually not sure about the daylight-means-death-automatically thing in the TB universe -- I know in Buffy, vampires could manage ambient light, and that it was only direct sunlight that killed them. That being the case, dragging him out of direct sunlight would at least stop more damage even if he was still very weak.

And a really good point about savings accounts -- or long-term savings bonds or something like that. If you're going to live that long, you might as well be sensible about it. Although Bill doesn't have to work, so presumably he's managed to save some money even if he did inherit the house.

As for Lafayette, it may well have been a feint -- I know they've done that a few times already on the show, so it's possible. ::crosses fingers:: I must admit I am incredibly curious about Meredith and Sam as well.

Flashman - I've got that book with that cover [age has its perks] and some of the others in that edition were equally posey [as in 'hey look at my package WHAT a man' not in small bunch of blossoms]. Almost all I know about Victorian history comes from GMF's footnotes, and certainly not from my utterly boring history lessons [Corn Laws *snort*].

Yes, it's not very clear - Bill says that he wouldn't die in sunlight immediately, and he's right at that, bless him. It probably does weaken them enormously, by the looks of things. *plans to drag Eric into the daylight and stick him in the shade....*

Okay, so you find Eric's head cocking *ahem* annoting. I find Bill's lowering his chin and glaring up at the screen annoying as hell. But hey, David wahts-his-face on CSI Miami looks away from the other characters, and then says something devestating and then looks at them EVERY DAMN TIME. I expect that he orders his breakfast burrito the same way.

But back to Eric... That Eric in the bathtub scene was just a cruel tease. Bill's butt is ho-hum. Sam's is better. But I need an Eric comparison shot. You know - for science.

I cracked up at Pam and Eric dumping Bill's daughter on him. Eric was so confident that he knew how to handle her. Hah! *whines* I want to kill somebody. Why can't I kill somebody?

Eric's so deliciously tall!! I love it that not all the male leads are buff and abbed - even though Jason is. And yes - I think Eric's bottom needs to be put up there, just so we can... rate it. Or something. Hehe - yes, annoying facial habits. On Casualty (not that I've watched it for years, the longest playing character has never, to my knowledge, looked any of the other characters in the eye and it's hilarious, he's supposed to be a real caring nurse, too.

Pam interests me - I love the way she dresses like a Senator's wife at times.
