Proof Editing is not an easy thing for me at the best of times. I don't have an editor's eye (and [livejournal.com profile] auntie_marion if it was in digital form I'd send the entire thing down to you to sweep over) and can't ever work out where commas should go, or not go - as my patient betas will attest to.

However, it is made a lot more challenging when certain furry occupants of the house can't work out what Mother is doing with that red stick in her hand and OOO!! Isn't it fun to pat it?  And OOOO!!  This big pile of paper is so warm to sit on, and if I sit on JUST THIS BIT that she's looking at, she's bound to notice me.  Failing that, they sit on my shoulder as I hunch, Cratchit like over the work (trying to prevent furry bottoms from squatting on it)

Cats. Can't eat 'em. Can't make furry mittens out of 'em.

I made a HUGE mistake on www.Travian.com I attacked someone with a small population and ran off giggling with my arms full of booty. What I didn't check was that it was his SECOND village - and his main village is fuck off HUGE. And he's coming after me. eep!!!!   I'm going to be attacked in about an hour and there's not a lot I can do about it.  I've shunted all my resources off to someone else, have contacted my Alliance, but there's no-one answering, and I'll send my troops out on some wild goose chase just before the attack happens. He has to travel six hours to get to me, so hopefully it will be a one-off raid, but it's taught me a lesson. CHECK that the little kid you pick on doesn't have a big brother!

I meant to tell you that I didn't participate in the prize thingy on your blog yesterday 'cause I already bought Frost Fair. :-) So I didn't see any reason to do it for something I already had. (BTW, ooooo errr. You write good m/m. I love all the snippets. Some year, when I get up the courage to write the m/m scene I have floating in my head, can I ask you to beta it? *it will probably be v. short and just that scene, since I haven't written any sex scenes in donkey's years.*)

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and are enjoying the Calendar!

And of course, I'd be more than happy to, hun - send it over when it's done! *huggles*

Hee! If it weren't just before Christmas, I'd drive up (if you'd pay for my petrol) and come and do it for you (or take it away to do at home...). Tell 'em to send it digitally next time? *g*

The cats are, of course, absorbing the text by arse-mosis, for further furry criticism. Just make sure you put it away safely so they can't ...DO... anything to/on it!

On the 'Travian' side of things, may I refer you to a friend's LJ, where he is posting an absolutely fascinating story, in Many Episodes, which has as its basis a game something like Settlers and Travian?

Go to http://smallship1.livejournal.com/tag/the+shop and skip back 20 to get the the first post. It's developing in a very interesting way...

Oh yes, cats big ball of fun when they find something to lay on they shouldn't. This morning one of ours was on K's Hello Kitty! book bag, she wanted to check to make sure her library book was in there and her spelling homework, cat wasn't having any of this get off my book bag nonsense. *sigh*

and that Travian looks addictive.

Horrible addictive. The bully knocked down my WALL!!!

Perhaps they thought the "hello kitty" meant them?

[begin procrastination]

This morning I have one cat determined to eat my cheese coffee cake for her breakfast and the other one quite convinced that my computer mouse should belong to her because she's pulled the fur off her toy mouse.

Cats. You can't cook them. You can't make boot liners out of them.

Call that procrastination? You should have your procrastination badge taken away, I think.

Face it. We are their slaves. Their minions. WE ARE NOT WORTHY.

Apparently it is tres exciting when I am typing because not only are there clicky sounds, but things are flashing on the flat thing. And I move the shiny blue toy.

Hope all is going well - what you said yesterday about writing what I know has really stuck, figure it will not hurt for me to give a more "architectural" background to the stories I write - it is how I see places anyways. So first on the list is what was existing and what was being built in Florence in 1479....

Hee. You are a horrible enabler. I love it.

You need to win the lottery so the Lucius-Malfoy-like picture I have of your snidely smirking into a tumbler of the good stuff while ensconced in your palatial country estate ends is accurate.

Ah yes, my cat Quincy likes to regularly try to bat at my pen as I'm doing homework or even trying to eat said homework before preceding to tilt her head and look at me with very innocent eyes.
