It snows in North Texas every year - the panhandle is usually hit by winter weather. When it snows south of Austin [say Brownsville] then we're talking about end time. :)

Deep fresh snow that instils a magical blanket of silence on the world. Snow that crunches underfoot and sparkles like faerie dust under a watching moon. Snow that makes familiar places a mystery and causes small creatures to emerge into a transformed landscape cautious and bewildered, and then the soft flakes beginning to fall again in hush and expectation.

Yes, I want snow too. A lasting white winter of thick huddled coats, roaring fires and ice parties on frozen rivers. I want to exhale white breath against white ground and hunt for the warm places and cocoa moments when I come inside again.

Well, so much for the US administration feeling above the Kyoto protocol, eh.

I'll have the Thunder Gods send any snow destined for Germany your way, since I hate the stuff. ;)

I just saw a news report from the strip in Vegas. The city is shut down and no flights in and out. Crazy. I have never seen snow in Las Vegas in my life.

I am so glad Matthew is home from Salt Lake City since another huge storm is hitting out west and we are getting this first one in the east.

*sigh* Winter!!! wow.

No snow here in Washington, for what it's worth. But no snow is better than ice storms, which is what's currently worrying my mother in Massachusetts.

I want snow! Feels like ages since I had an even nominally white Christmas.

You can have all of Connecticut's snow for the entire winter. Snow is EVIL.

It's snowed two years in a row in Austin, which is just astounding to me.

We had a hard frost (the docks were white) and the hilltops surrounding the bay are snow clad.

You have snow every year, don't you?
Ours was just a snowfall in the evening that lasted long enough for all of us to go outside and lift our faces and hold out our hands. By morning, there was no sign it had ever snowed.
Four years ago, we had a dusting of snow that lasted a day or two.

When I lived in Austin twenty-three years ago (3 hr drive further north than I am now) we had a good deep snow, once. I think it lasted a week or so. I remember how beautiful it was in the old neighborhood where we lived, on a street with little bungalows and big oaks and old-fashioned sidewalks.
I hope you get snow!

No - these days snow is rare. When my parents first moved here 20 or so years ago it was inevitable and often they got snowed in, but now it's an "event" and i really hope for it!
