Mel Keegan, author of lovely gay historicals such as East Wind Blowing and Dangerous Moonlight reads Speak Its Name!!!

This entry on Mel's blog discusses the phenomenon of OKHOMO on this post here and it's an interesting read.

I remember reading Mel's pirate book (can't remember the name) many, many moons ago, WAY before the internet, and speculating with my friend about the author. How much in a non-internet-enabled bubble we were. ;-) I remember I really enjoyed that book. I also remember that I read another one, a space one? And that I thought it was weird, but that pirate one I remember very fondly indeed. Oh yes.

And so to the fondue. Very unpiratical.

Merry Christmas!

AFAIK, she also started in fandom, writing Pros. She was 1st person I heard of who went pro. She was kind of a role model.

it was definitely an interesting article, and congrats that she's mentioned your site as well!

All of my work is contemporary and I hadn't thought a lot about this particular issue, but I liked what she said and it definitely made me want to search out and read some gay historical fiction now!

Well, that's wonderful! My aim in life is to point people towards historical! After all - you are here on my LJ - and historical is what I write!
