Why is it you can buy sexy chain mail for women but not for men?

It's probably best not to ask me ....

Well... My friend Vita and I once co-wrote a totally Mary Sue RPS fic before we knew what it was that featured not the prince on the white horse but the prince in the white speedos...

Still, chain mail? For real? That stuff weighs a TON.

Marquesate was being seduced by Templar bunnies. I was just gently prodding the idea along....

I fear you already. You don't need to encourage that!

I have been seduced by falmouth piracy bunnies. Interesting to note that the people who owned what I assume is called Falmouth Head (protecting the harbour) also were the money behind many of the pirate ships...

But lets get my italian boys finished and then we'll see which of the list gets me going (I'm so happy I have a list!!!!)

That must pinch something awful...

In the town where I grew up the museum had this replica of a chainmail shirt (a real one) made the way they did it back then that guests where allowed to touch and children under the supervision of a museum guide could try it on. It was way heavy and you didn't want to get your hair caught in it.

Something tells me this isn't really entirely the same thing.

I feel strangely relieved to know I'm not the only one who fell victim to your chainmail-covered bunnies. O.o

ROFL! Though... It wouldn't surprise me if you'd tempted Marquesate as well...

I'm afraid to say that an unfortunate side-note is next to the picture there.
"Quantity in Basket:None"
Ahem.
Not quite the case, judging from those jeans, but who am I to say?

You'd be surprised. Just perfectly straight-forward SCA competition chain isn't designed to accentuate things like beefy back and bulgy shoulders, but, erm, it kinda does.
This has an odd effect on people at places like SF & F conventions too. They come up and want to pet it and coo at the person wearing it. *cough* and possibly pet the person wearing it, too.
Not that I'd know why... *whistling*

I've worn Tom Holt's chain mail shirt. And it's definitely heavy! We put it on a small child, who had to stand perfectly still and upright, otherwise the weight of it dragged her over. I got it on, and fastened, and could move in it, but getting up from a seated position was ... interesting.

Depends on the mailer. I've seen a number of chainmail codpieces. Some with bells.

And actually, chainmail bikini tops don't pinch. Well made ones are quite comfortable. Yes, i've worn one.

Chainmail feels like very very heavy velvet, especially if it's chamois backed.

On the other hand, when you wear it, unless to tighten your belt to take some of the weight it feels like it's going to rip your shoulders off. No wonder the Normans always seem so irritable.

Getting it off is fun. The easiest way is to hitch it up to your waist, then bend over and let it fall off, hoping it doesn't take your nose and ears with it.
