I can't help it....
Feb. 7th, 2009 11:51 amStill sneezly and snuffly but sounding like Deitrich, which isn't a bad thing, I suppose. However the sun is out and shining on me, which is perking me up. I swear I'm part lizard.
Does anyone know of any Slash (or slash friendly) conventions in the UK? I've only found one -- Connotations -- but are there any others? Or who I could ask?
It is not recommended to read The Pirates! books when you have a bad cold, as any giggle will lead to minutes of severe wheezles. It was worth it.
There is still NO SNOW. It couldn't be more springlike. Don't believe the BBC. Liars!

RevelCon is Houston is actually Slash-friendly! [also in March]
Tribal Forces - in Valley Forge, PA
CON.TXT - in Baltimore, MD
Constrict in Las Vegas
Gaylaxicon does have a large slash presence.
Close Quarters Pro slash con in Laurel, MD [July 2009]
Yaoi Con - lots of slash sold here!
Connotations UK - WHICH YOU KNOW ALL READY
and Zebracon in Chicago takes place on Odd years - so the next one will be this year [likely September].
But then again, with articles likes this one in the UK [dated today] -

I'm not shocked yaoi or slash isn't more prevalent in Europe and in the UK.
"usually feature a dominant male character - tall and masculine - who deflowers a smaller, more androgynous teen. "
Are they serious?
"Yaoi is a way for women to explore and enjoy male sexuality, in a non-threatening way. "
OMG, whut?
"a Yaoi convention was recently held in California. "
Really now? Yaoicon is near 10 years old, and they just noticed the con?
