Update on the radio/newspaper interview
Mar. 16th, 2009 09:16 pmHad the call from the journalist - I'll be on the "Afternoon Delight" broadcast on Radio Yare on 1350 kHz AM (medium wave) or 222m metres in old money--on 3rd April at approx 3.15.
Sadly there doesn't seem to be an online feed - but there must be somewhere? Is anyone good at finding this stuff? Perhaps because it's AM and not FM.? Never mind - I'll scan the newspaper article in, anyway.
I'm up to date with the Temeraire books and found the last one, Victory of Eagles, the best one so far. Perhaps it's because Temeraire gets a proper POV and we see a lot more of the dragons' conversations and plans, and the simplistic, narcissistic, funny and clever way they speak and think. I just adore Iskeirka, the little horror--and poor Granby who has a terrible time with her. I've really warmed to Laurence--I understand him a lot more now--he's Hornblower in many ways, completely bound to his duty, and when he breaks it he is fatalistic about his proposed punishment. The way Novik leads us to the end of the book and where Laurence has to go makes a lot of sense. So yes - enjoyable. Not "I must go and buy these books enjoyable", but good for library books and i'm looking forward to the next one. I just want to turn Tem into a human, or Laurence into a dragon because their love affair is unutterably touching.
Don't even talk to me about SyFy. What morons. Way to sound like a cream cleaner. Siffy, cuts through nerds with a lemony scent.
Why is Heroes in B&W? I thought there was something wrong with my TV.
Oh and BTW, can someone explain to me what the blinkerty blink Heroes is all about now? It's utterly baffling.
