Sunny Saturday
Mar. 21st, 2009 10:16 amTransgressions is in the top 20 of gay romances on Amazon at the moment- higher than any of my other books. Not bad for pre-orders! Thank you for everyone who’s pre-ordered it.
If you are gagging for it, there’s a new and exclusive excerpt up on Elisa Rolle’s blog here.
Alex Beecroft kindly sent me an ARC of False Colors and I’ve been hoovering it up, I’ll do a proper review here when I’ve finished it (I’ll let someone else review it for Speak Its Name because that would be far too incestuous) but at the moment—unless orange tentacled space aliens fly in from Worthing and eat the faces off all concerned—it’s going to be nothing much other than an “omg squee” kind of review. Being Alex, I expected it to be beautifully written, and omg it is, but it’s … well. SO Bloody damn good. Characters, plot, action, sea battles, UST, stupid men you want to smack around the head, it’s all there. Can’t wait to do the review, even if it’s only OMG SQUEEFUL. She’s a lot lot better than she gives herself credit for.
I’m still loving Entourage, and am on series three. I can’t believe I missed this series when it was on TV in the UK—what channel was it on? Or was it one of those things that was in the middle of the night? Could be, given the language and the sexual activity. There’s not one thing I don’t like about the show. Ari is just fabulous, and Lloyd oh dear me… *wipes eyes* LLOYD. “I’ll come with you as long as you promise never to say anything hateful about my race or my sexual persuasion.” “You know I can’t promise you that, but I promise I’ll always apologise.” Of course Ari never does.
I dare say I will be a rugby widow later—why are all my UK online mates rugby fans? And don’t say Dieux de Stade, they don’t look like that on the pitch!!
OK – back to the WIP. Over 25K now.. want a sneaky peek!?
"All right," he said, leaning toward me, blasting me with the brandy on his breath, "perhaps it's not exactly like that, but--" He stopped talking and became very still, other than his breathing which was labouring under too much spirits. When he continued it was almost in a whisper, as if what he was saying was a dire secret which would bring down governments. He didn't take his eyes from mine. "He's a quiz, anyway, at least your Albert is all lantern jawed and proper. Myles' man looks like he strangled two wives before his twentieth birthday." I held my breath, scared to break the mood. "Crispin..."
"Yes?" I said. My stomach was fluttering wildly and my buttocks were tingling so much my breath caught in my throat.
"You are very handsome."
"Yes, sho are you," I said, with a small, breathy laugh.
"I'm going to kiss you, and you mustn't mind. It's just the alcohol, and because I’m wicked and simply can’t help myself. You know I’m wicked, don’t you?"
"Yes."
"You won't mind?"

Apparently the race fairy has blocked any linking from my LJ to her blog. Her prerogative of course, but how amusing… really. It’s all right for her to link to things, but as usual, her rules don't work for other people. Of course there’s always Hot Spot Shield. But the best way to prevent one reading one’s blog, surely is just to lock it down to your friends.Seems logical. Oh, right. I see the flaw there. And no, this isn’t a campaign of hate, it’s a post of mild amusement.
