1 - And it's raining and dull and has been since the day I bought a bird bath. Blame me. However I am an optimist, and am looking forward to an Indian Summer. *peers into the murk*

2 - Am re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird, and biting my keyboard in half for its elegant simplicity. It was so good to see her writing again, recently.

3. Pleased that Phoenix Rising are re-considering the issue of the plagiarists that they invited to be on their panel. Hurrah!

4. Posted a flasher on ERWA mailing list which got a good response, it was an adaptation of one that I did for dogdaysofsummer last year but I'll repost it here for those who haven't read it.

The sky rips. Rain, large as bees, warm as skin, drenches them in seconds. Paul kisses Adam - still surprised; tangling his fingers into the hair that, in the rain, turns dark as his eyes.

It's new, this. Who would have guessed that kissing his best friend would taste like honey and home? New, but he hopes it's not just a flash in the pan. Not just a summer storm.

In the strobe light night, white shirts cling like arms; tighter than embraces and still they kiss, their mouths fill with water and drown the words they can't yet express.

What's weird is that one of the commenters said it was 115 words, and then he re-wrote it to "fit" an did it in 88 words. *puzzled* I think I'll see out flasher markets and see if I can place some of the old HP drabbles there. As I said to [livejournal.com profile] rwday recently, it's daft having all these fics not earning their keep. The down said that of course is that as I sell converted fanfic, my website shrinks, as I'll need to take down the stories as I submit them, one of two have already gone.

Plodding on with "Junction X" today. Up to now it's been about backstory and explaining who and what my main protagonist is, but very soon I'll be introducing the love of his life even if he doesn't know it yet. *bounces* And I'd just like to say, that leaving fandom doesn't mean that the bloody characters leave you. Lucius is being a real PEST. He paces about, (when he's not scoffing absinthe and lolling over the furniture wearing nothing but a green silk robe) and moans that there's no HIM in Junction X. I've tried to explain to him that it's 1960's English suburbia - with MUGGLES in pinstripe suits and bowler hats and STUDENTS but he just aims those pale eyes at me as if to say "So? Well they need the excitement of ONE, don't they?"

Anyone want the loan of an annoying blond wizard for a month or two?

Ah, so just not the sharpest pencil in the bunch. And nice (and brave/honest) enough to correct himself.

I am reminded by other posters to make sure I have all your fanfic stuff on my hard drive - I think I have, but - check!
