I think many people (me too, sometimes) forget that other people work, or have families and don’t think when posting. It seems to have got worse recently and time and again I’ve thought to myself “thank GOD I’m not a work!!” when I’ve seen a practically naked (or even completely, no holds barred naked) man on my flist that’s not behind a cut. Plus you know, some people are still on dial up.
So Come on people – some people are also closet M/M fans – they might have parents that don’t know their interests, or they may have young children who could blunder into a room – have a little common sense eh? Respect your flist.

Date: 2009-04-06 03:50 pm (UTC)Yes I know Lee you weren't referring to me in particular, I was only trying to understand if I'm right in what I'm doing with my LJ or not ;-) I have quite a "square" mind, and I'm the first to cring when I see a post with bigger images that makes my layout looks strange (even if it's the friend page layout). I have not really problem with connection, both in office than at home, and not really problem with the content of the images... mine is more a practical statement.
For example, those posts that are ALL under a cut... most of the time I don't read them, since they don't catch my eyes ;-)

Date: 2009-04-06 04:14 pm (UTC)I agree with you absolutely and am very sorry for that. As you've experienced, I was terribly shocked when I found a picture of a naked boy on my flist without being hidden behind a cut.
M/M fangrils are simply enjoying those pictures? I have no idea. I doubted even the sanity of the man who has posted this sort of image (he is not in my flists, but regarded as a m/m fan).
As Alex Beecroft said, the same to icons.
A bit of sensitivity, please :(

Date: 2009-04-06 04:59 pm (UTC)Saw another (photographed) rimming icon yesterday, and frankly wish the owners of such would die in a fire. It's just ignorant fucktardery.

Date: 2009-04-06 08:39 pm (UTC)I really should use filters more, as I belong to a few communities that don't seem to feel the need to make posters use lj-cut tags. Blog feeds can also be a problem- Jason Curious for e.g.
Sometimes I forget about icons and probably use risque ones where I shouldn't- will try harder not to.
It's difficult, though, because I know how easy it is to scroll right by posts with cuts if you're checking the FL in a hurry. Sometimes you want to grab people's attention because you have something really hot to share- in those cases I try to find a nice romantic smooch or whatever, with no nudity etc. to tempt the clicky-click.
