Dollhouse “Omega” was fuck-off brilliant, and I will never understand it if the show is cancelled. I adored "Millie” so much, particularly, to see a normal sized actress on the screen had ME even thinking she was overweight, because she looked so next to all the anorexic looking other actresses. I LOVED the Whisky twist, and Tudyk  (however you spell it, too lazy to check) rocks my boat.

If that was aimed to be the end of the first series—which I think it was—it was beautifully done.

As for the Legend of the Seeker, I suddenly realised, that I’ve actually read the book, Sword of Truth. It must have been a long long time ago, back when I was reading fantasy and not really knowing what I was looking for, but I remember the Mord –Sith and think that the tragedy of those women probably stayed with me because of how awful their story was. The rest of the book – I’m fairly sure I only read one of the series, is a complete blank.

I’ve just finished “Hero” by Perry Moore and was singularly unimpressed. I found it outstandingly dull, with the most godawful set of characters I’d ever met, every single one of them incredibly unlikeable (Yes I even wanted to punch the precocious brother of Goran) with a clod thumping OMG ISNT THIS FRICKING OBVIOUS TO A BLIND BAT-LOIS LANE BLINDNESS SYNDROME plot which I worked out almost from chapter four, or that’s what it seemed like, anyway. Terrible continuity (someone clipping her nails on one page, and then two pages later, Thom (I mean, THOM?) notices that her nails were “bitten to the quick” boring confusing battles and such a rip off so highly highly derivative I’m surprised everyone didn’t sue him.

If you want to read a gay super hero with well imagined characters, and a surprising twisty plot, then try Hayden Thorne’s MASKS series and don’t waste your time on hype.

Thanks to Chris Smith and her nagging, I got back on Etherpad today and wrote 1500 words of Mere Mortals, so I’m very happy. Celebrating with pizza.

Hey! Don't stress it, it's only my opinion - everyone else seems to have liked it too, I suppose I was just going "meh" because Hayden did it better and should have had all the kudos that Perry had.

Not lousy, just... not very original.
