Golf Help PLEEEZE

erastesI need to assign a handicap to my "hero"
The most I know about golf is from Wodehouse where everyone is a "Scratch"
player which I assume means shit - hot.
My Edward is good-ish, but not as good as his friend, but they play
together. Neither are match winners but they hold their own against other
hobbying golfers. He plays every weekend but that's about it.
So what might his handicap be?
ALSO - Showers in English Golf Clubs in 1960? Yes or No?
