Thank you [livejournal.com profile] crawling_angelfor the lovely present - she sent me a jam/preserve pot in the shape of a fat cat. I can't find a picture of it online, so you'll just have to imagine it. I may use it for pens. Or something. Too nice to use for Jam as I don't have any. It's funny though, because my mother collected honey and jam pots, she had thousands. THANK YOU!!! It will sit on my desk with something in. Perhaps Reece Peeces. :D

I spent my $50 winnings from TRS on a laptop bag (hope it fits!) and a few games including Lego Indiana Jones which I can't wait to start.

I am horribly addicted to Stargate Atlantis.  British TV stopped showing it, I think after series one, and I’ve just started series two. So much fun!  Much less dull and po faced than SG1 (sorry) – and the guy I had tagged as a useless Twink has just had something horrible happen to him. GOOD!!  McShep are very sweet together and so obviously married. :D No spoilers please, it’s just nice that I still have four series to go – weeks of entertainment! Shame the Wraith arent JUST a little sexier (although I’m afraid I find some of them disturbingly hot, they are like zombie Luciuses.)  Yes, there’s no hope for me. It’s very true. I’m anyone’s if they turn up in a white-blond wig and a leer.

(oh and bring vodka, lots of)

Thsis morning before I went out, I watched “The Sum of Us” which is a gay movie starring Russell Crowe.  It’s a delightful film, and highly recommended, although like many Australian films it’s a little quirky and doesn’t pull punches—good things happen, bad things happen.  I just adored the relationship between Crowe and his father, and it had me sniffling like the big baby I am by the end.  Go forth and watch (if you haven't’ already, I’m probably the last person in the world to see it.)

My phone keeps beeping FOR NO REASON. Stop it. You have no message. You are fully charged. YOU ARE BEING IRRITATING.

ee – new babies. It’s nice to see new dragons on my scroll before I see them elsewhere.

Adopt one today! - Adopt one today! - Adopt one today! - Adopt one today! - Adopt one today!Adopt one today!

That’s quite enough rambling from me, I think.

Channel 5 may not have shown all of it, but Sky 1 did! It (along with season 10 of SG1) is why I got us moved from Virgin to Sky when they (temporarily, it turns out) dropped the Sky channels from their line up.

McShep are very sweet together and so obviously married.

Totally! :D

Yes - that's annoying - I do miss SkyOne. It was included in the ITV cable thingy that went bottom up (which typically was the one I signed up with) and now I have freeview, I'm stuck with SkyThree. However, online viewing now makes up for years of not being able to get it!

i had to giggle when they started squabbling about MENSA in the middle of the certain death situation in The Brotherhood.

That scene is brilliant, makes me smile every time I watch it! I may have to find my season one dvds...

Aargh, that Virgin Media thing was annoying. I lost Lost! No more Sawyer/Sayid UST! Well, I get the DVDs instead now, so once a year I have a Lost marathon. Which is actually a much more fun way to watch it!

It was annoying, they did it weeks before the very last episode of SG1 D: Fortunately we swapped before I missed any Stargate, but it was so annoying that they waffled around for ages before deciding to drop the channels and then dropped them for a few months!

If I'd known they'd do that I might have just stuck with Virgin, because they have a much better on demand system than Sky and we have fewer channels now. But still, there is more than enough on!

Marathoning shows is such good fun :D

Marathoning shows is such good fun :D

Especially for Lost, since I swear sometimes and afternoon can take likee five episodes!

Plus with DVDs I can do more pause and rewind when Sawyer takes his shirt off. Though since he takes his shirt off pretty much continually, that's only a small extra advantage.

I loved the movie "The Sum of Us", and I don't know anyone else who's seen it, who wasn't in the theatre with me in Australia in 1994. Russell Crowe wasn't famous in North America yet - I'd never heard of him - but I knew the guy who played the dad.

I was blubbing by the end, too. Standout memories for me are the words "he's what you might call 'cheerful'," and the first time I ever heard the word 'fuckwit'.

Yes! Cheerful! "I don't like to use the other word."

Brilliant. And the most embarrassing Dad ... EVER.

I forget where qwe came across reccie for this one, but I second the note that it's really well-done. There's a sort of grubby, slow-paced, convincing dailiness about it that I just liked.
