Outer Alliance Pride Day
Sep. 1st, 2009 12:00 pm"As a member of the Outer Alliance, I advocate for queer speculative fiction and those who create, publish and support it, whatever their sexual orientation and gender identity. I make sure this is reflected in my actions and my work."

Yeah, ok – I’ve only written and sold one gay scifi story, but it still counts!!
Last night the laptop came into its own. I felt a bit guilty having it, actually, because up to now I've mainly been watching TV and films on it, but last night I couldn't sleep, and I started mulling the Lombardy story over in my head. (that book SO needs a title, perhaps I'll have a competition)
I was struck with the inspiration for a scene in the book, and normally, without the foresight of a bedside lamp, a notebook and pen, or a dictaphone, I'd just say to myself "Oh, I'll remember that" and of course, come the morning I almost certainly forget it. However with the laptop, it was the work of seconds to unhibernate and write the scene. So, I don't feel so guilty now.
Thank you for your questions on yesterday’s post. I’ll probably post on Thursday or Friday, depending how things go, and if people are interested I’ll make it a regular thing, perhaps not once a week—you’d soon get sick of that, I’m sure—but once a month?
