Yesterday was a pig of a day all in all – it ended with me having a nosebleed.  I cannot remember the last time I had one of those – probably was in my teens – I used to get them a lot as a child.

One bad review, one very unhappy reviewee, one very bad experience when I went out in the car which I’m not going into details over and other things which I won’t bore anyone with.  Probably a blood pressure nosebleed but ick.

Today is shaping up better, mostly because I’ve spent most of it in bed with Unseen Academicals. Yay for gay wizzards!  Mustrum Ridcully rules.

I had no idea that Dollhouse was back!  I tried watching the first episode but couldn’t really remember enough of the last series’ end, so I’ll have to rewatch it.

Who the hell is Miley Cyrus and is it really news that she’s left Twitter?  Good Lord. (Rhetorical question, I’ve looked up who she is, and I’m not much wiser. I am too old.)

I’m cold. It’s not actually cold here, so hope this doesn’t presage something worse. Back to bed for me.

I'm glad to hear Miley Cyrus is not famous in the UK. Over here we are constantly deluged with her, though personally I've never watched her TV show, specials or concerts.

She probably is - I'm just a hermit. I didn't even know we'd stopped fighting in Iraq until today.

Yes, Mercury is out of retrograde, but I have it on good authority that the moon is in ca-ca and will stay there indefinitely. ;)

::hugs:: That sounds like a bear of a day and nobody likes a nosebleed.

Did you watch Epitaph One? Joss & company filmed it as a weird sequel-ish thing to fit between the first and second series, and it is fantastic. Also things will make a lot more sense if you watch it and then get into the second series.

(And I only vaguely know who Miley Cyrus is, and I'm living in the US. Then again, I've had to ask at least five different people who Jon and Kate Plus Eight are, so I obviously have no contemporary pop culture fu...)

You're very welcome! I hadn't known about it until a friend mentioned it to me last month.

Wait, what? Unseen Academicals is out? ::checks Book Depository:: Ooh, so it is. I wonder what Tesco are selling it for, I'll be in there tomorrow.

Yes, and it's pretty good - quite the most literary of his stuff so far imho. But no Vimes. *sadness*

Shame.

I haven't got it yet (even bigger shame.) Will probably get it on Tuesday now. Ah, anticipation is half the fun.

Well it certainly needed to come out of retrograde! Can I take my crash helmet off yet?

*plugs nose* There, there.

I caught True Blood the other night. Does it get any gayer?
*hopeful eyes*

Are you watching Autumnwatch?

True Blood does get a lot gayer, believe me. :)

I missed AW last night, felt really rough and went to bed, but I'm going to catch the repeat today or watch it on line.

Have you been watching the rut on webcam? Amazing tenacity the photographers have. Has to be the Worst Job unless you are a madman.

I've managed to watch the first episode. I likes Bill...he's all nice and pale, ;) Was giggling at fangbanger.

Yes, the rut! One got a right poking in the butt on AW on Friday night. Hmm...buttrutting. Like fangbanging but round the corner? o.O

It is, but I think something else must have got stuck somewhere--this week has been weird.

Miley Cyrus is the warbling offspring of some damned country-western singer or other. I think she was in some Disney films. Meh.

I must find a way to keep my wife from finding out about the new Pratchett so I can surprise her for Christmas...

It's been a quite horrible week, and now I either have a rotten cold (hope it is) or baby pig flu so it's not getting any better. *grump*

I'm sure she'll love the new Pratchett! he used to bring them out near to Christmas so they were always an easy gift for people!

PS - I checked with a friend who is into astrology, and surprise! Not only was Mercury in retro, but so were 3 other biggies. The good news is, Jupiter gets out of the pit Tuesday, and Jupiter is all about good fortune, windfalls, and success... and it's bee bass-ackward for months. I'm not a 'check-the-horroscope-every-morning' type, but the retrogrades do seem to coincide with communication and travel glitches.

Do get checked for swine flu... those of us born before 1957 apparently have some immunity from the last go-round, but this bug goes deeper into lung tissue than most and the tamiflu apparently helps reduce the impact. {passes you echinicea tea}

There must be a kink (no pun intended LOL) in the time space continuum...last week was a pig of week on this side of the pond also.

Miley, I'm sure, will be the next victim for the media to sink it's fangs into and shred to tiny little bits. She's a sweet little thing. Growing up in the spotlight, I'm sure is tough at times. One can't go to the loo without someone reporting on it. Kids don't always make the right decisions, and our media over here is just waiting at the chance to deflower her image.
