Writer's Block: If these walls could talk

If you live in an older house, it's likely something horrible has happened in there. Doesn't have to be murder.
And OF COURSE I'd live there rent free.
Ghosts are nothing to be scared about. It's the living you have to watch out for. Specially those neighbours. *shifty*

Date: 2009-11-12 04:42 pm (UTC)Our previous house, which we loved, had a tragic death in it - the owner's son had driven her to heart failure by his career as a drug dealer. The place was then inhabited by said son and his trashy girlfriend, who had periodic run-ins with the police because of their habit of domestic violence. Not good vibes at all.
When he lost the house to bad debt, a neighbor cleaned it up and rehabbed it, and we bought it and did some more titivating. There actually was a strange cold spot in the bedroom where Mrs X had died -- my dog would stare and growl at one corner.
We had a friend in, a Wiccan priestess, to bless the place. End of problem. And we revived Mrs. X's garden and wished her well. I guess she wasn't a hostile ghost, just anxious and a little confused.
The non-person thing I miss most about moving to Canada is that house. And I really miss the trees.

I'd probably try to contact the ghost though. Just to reassure them that I meant no harm.
