On one of these recycling groups a few days back – someone was advertising a tv that they didn’t need “no remote control” we’ve bought a smaller one – for £5 – I fired off an hopeful email and didn’t expect any response.  Yesterday I got an email “yes, it’s still available” so I drove over to Horstead today to pick it up.

OH MY GOD.

It’s GINORMOUS. Of course it’s a tube model, not a flat screen and HUGE!!  28 INCHES!

I nearly killed myself getting it into the car (with the help of a strapping young man who looked at me most askance – I think he thought I was going to have a heart attack (I felt like I was going to) – and now it’s still in the car because I’m trying to work out how the bloody hell I’m going to get it OUT.  I think perhaps I’ll put a bin liner in the wheelie bin and then put the tv in there, and then I can wheel it to the door – once in the house I can just push it along….

really. ginormous.

I hope it bloody works. Idiot face here forgot to ask him to show it working of course… But if it does it will be fabulous – at the moment I’m watching a bedroom sized tv, that mother bought me about four years ago, and for gaming its far far too small as I have to literally sit on top of it to work out what’s going on.  With this CINEMA sized monstrosity, I could probably sit across the road and still make out the details.  More on this later. I may have just bought a huge paperweight.

hehe... If you're impressed by the size of that one, you'd really love the one Hubby bought for our bedroom this year. He was so proud of himself...saved up his money for months to finally have enough. It's 50-some odd inches. Damned thing takes up the entire corner - he has it mounted on this metal thing. It *looms* at you when you enter the room. LOL

Yes but it's probably a flat screen, yes? these people had just replaced this with a flat screen one - this has a tube and weighs a ton...

I do think 50 inches is a bit big for the bedroom!!!

If I brought that into my living room, I'd get it in place, look around and say "so... now I need to move to a bigger house..." :D

If 28 inches is considered ginormous by your standards, how dinky was the TV you were using before?
