Severus bought a dead baby bird in this morning.  A baby blackbird. it had feathers and was probably a week? old. What the DEVIL are they doing having baby birds in this weather? This early?? Madness!! Perhaps it’s because I have so much food out for them?  Has anyone else seen any baby birds?

Not baby blackbird as such but young one which is VERY fat. The thrush is gorgeous tho. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow. It was nibbling on millionaire's shortbread on the birdy table, hehe.

I've heard baby birds chirping in my windowboxes, and I don't put out food or seed. Don't ask me what birds are doing having babies in mid-winter.

That is a gorgeous cover for Ransom.

Maybe that bird was an early entry for the Darwin Award?

I do love that cover--and she keeps getting better.

No baby birds this year but last year there was a baby bird at a time when I really wasn't expecting to see one so maybe some birds are a bit mad - or confused.

Got a lovely, adult thrush today though :(

And how about the Dirk A Wolfe Award for Frost Fair's cover?

No nudidity there, either... Alex may have to expand the cover-art page on her website to display the trophies.

No baby birds, but I was VERY cross with either Gretchen or Gainsborough (I'm going all Miss Marple at the weekend to find out which) who killed a robin.

It's in the deep freeze, I shall fish it out Saturday and confront them with their victim - from their reactions I will know who to blame!

I do love that cover: simple but eye catching with that stunning sun rise/set.

Aw, it's soo pretty. Didn't see it today. I'll try on Sunday/Monday as the camera is travelling back from Leicester at mo with Dave. (I might give the blackberry a go. It has a zoom!)

I prefer him in his dressing gown to the white robe look. They may be going a little far...stretching the ad out type of thing :/
