erastes: (standish cover)

The marvellous yaoi artist Chris Smith has honoured me by taking my humble book, and with a skill I can only compare to Alan Moore, has done – entirely without me asking for it – a graphic novel of Standish.

To save your bandwidth – it’s under the cut.  SPOILERS. If you haven’t read the book. beware.

i think i just watched a gay historical drama series, not quite sure, homoerotic beyond belief but only one moment of overt slash, sorry, 2, but medieval japan - no one gave a crap so....
it also might have been the best thing I've seen in a long time (not quite sure yet....) what remains of brain - blown away by sheer wtf! - suggests comparison to Visconti's wonderful Ludwig (very gay historical) but with samurai
did enjoy very much just no idea wtf happened, felt like half of it was missing
not necessarily a bad thing....

oh, it's called Shigurui (Death frenzy) by the way and is the "war" between two students at the same dojo
not as overt as the live action Gohatto (by gum that boy was pretty) but probably actually more gay....
thought you'd like it
it's a series so it's quite long (only just longer than Vischonti's ludwig though) and very beautiful (violent too - but with a title like death frenzy) anyways, thought you'd like it, although it is left VERY wide open

Why couldn't you have written the story like this to begin with? It could have been a board book. Or a bath book. Then I wouldn't have had to strain my IQ.

CHRIS SMITH: I DEMAND STICK!ALVISI! Do it, or I will, and who wants that?

That's hilarious! Chris is a genius. When are you going to start organizing a graphic novel anthology?

I wish I had books written.

Yes. To be quite honest I'm not sure why erastes didn't just submit this to the publishers. The rest of the story is just filler.

Yes. Tell E to stop drivling with words and such-like and start making laminated board-books for those one-handed moments!

I was thinking Darcy and Bronte kissing in the background, overlaid with Vibrio cholerae wriggling appealingly, and a giant Brie in the foreground. The Brie would have "Luciously, by Charlie Cochrane" branded into it.

It's a horrible world isn't it? Personally I've decided to strip all the words out of DRM and just do one of the book-pages-flipping-things that will look like an artist shagging a fat monk and then an aristocrat. I'm sure that Harper Collins is just looking for something like that.
