Puzzling--and Doctor Who "Amy's Choice"
May. 16th, 2010 09:34 amI’ve just read a blurb which describes the protag as a gay “sexual addict.” But then there’s an excerpt where – after he meets the man of his dreams – he says he’s not “been with anyone.” (and weeps like a little girl, but that’s neither here nor there).
Question: Do people really think that people are virgins just because (as I’m assuming in this case) the boy has been round the block a couple of hundred times but hasn’t either penetrated or been penetrated? It seems an odd concept.
As for Doctor Who... I LOVE what Moffat is doing with the Doctor this series. There was a lot of dark in previous doctors (and I'm talking pre-Nine) and although we've seen some hints of that with Rusty's command, Moffat is letting it rip in a big way. It's clear the man has been "thinking about it far too much" as many of us fangirls do about their fandoms. Some of the things the Dream Lord said the the Doctor were things I've been asking for a long long time. I guessed who he was when the Doctor said "there's only one person in the Universe who hates me as much as you do." *sob* Amy rocks my little world. In fact I just adore that FOR BLOODY ONCE in this new 9-10-11 saga, the shipping is GONE and there's entirely a new emphasis, and that the Doctor is almost helping the relationship with Rory. The whole "something went wrong" as to him coming back to the village was quite creepy, actually. Because the Tardis I've always felt chooses many of his destinations, so it was the Tardis who knew the Dust was on board and thought that he needed to "sort out his feelings" and hear some home truths. Harsh. I also love Rory. I love the way he talks to the Doctor. I love TWO companions! Love love love this series.
