Can anyone help with Oblivion?? PLEASE?
Jun. 6th, 2010 05:16 pmI need help with OBLIVION so if you aren't into that, forgive me. Can anyone help me?
I've been doing pretty well - I'm a member of most guilds, but have been concentrating on the Assassins (I look so natty in my black outfit) and have just killed my entire order and got a magic horse.
However - my bounty is THROUGH the roof - is there any way of getting it down?? Do I have to turn good samaritan for a while and Do Good Deeds? The trouble is every time I stick my head into any town - or even park said Magic Horse in a stable out of town, some Guard arrests me and it's either a choice of fighting it out or going to prison and losing all my stuff. If I don't get my stuff BACK, my bounty goes down to five - but get it back and it's back up to six figures or whatever it is.
I HAVE tried the Wiki, but I couldn't find anything about how to reduce your bounty.
Also, I'm a vampire - and I didn't WANT to be one - and the cure involves going to the Arcane University, and to do THAT I need to talk to all the Mage guilds, but every time I go in there, they scream "GO AWAY!!!" which isn't very helpful...
I'm really hoping I haven't entirely buggered this up, because I've been playing for about 400 years and I really don't want to start all over again. Anyone?

Date: 2010-06-06 05:28 pm (UTC)How is your infamy doing? It sounds like it is far higher than your fame - being in the assasin guild does that. If you have the night of the nine expansion - that quest more or less sort that problem out and then the magicians start talking to you and you can get rid of the vampire curse... but I think any work or pilgrimage involving the temples could clear that out as well.
There are many ways of solving ANYTHING in Oblivion and the main problem you will find is that every person does it differently. What I found is that you never REALLY mess up things beyond repair... somewhere there is a solution for everything.

Date: 2010-06-06 06:42 pm (UTC)I REALLY need to make notes. I've been avoiding doing so, because I don't want to be a sad bastard, but I'm going to have to admit that I've always been a sad bastard.
I'd entirely forgotten about the thieves guild, in fact, I'd forgotten WHERE it was, remembered it was on the waterfront somewhere - now I can see it in my mind's eye. I'd got so wrapped up with the fun of running around assassinating people left right and centre, I wasn't paying attention to the balance. I don't have any booklets, you see, the game just came in a disc (it's the playstation 3 version, which has some of the expansions included, I'll have to check if that part you mention is included too...)
thanks!

I should just stick to simple games. Shoot. Kill. Hide under tables.
Thanks to your daughter!
