Weather a LITTLE more bearable today. Last night was appalling. I had a bowl of water beside me and had to tip some over my head at regular intervals. Lucius has discovered that if I sponge his head with cool water this is helping him cool down, so whenever I’m in the bathroom he marches in for a swift cool sponge around the ears. He’s a bright cat, that one. Lili however – being born in Spain – thinks it’s not hot ENOUGH and hasn’t even started to moult yet.
I have created a spreadsheet for “I Knew Him” – it was originally for the word count, which is horribly anal of me, and now it has character’s names on it! This is progress – at least people shouldn’t change names in mid paragraph any more. Famus last words. Hit 13,000 words today. *beams*
Thank you gehayi and rikibeth for my super special Thunder Egg. :D

Date: 2010-07-03 08:30 pm (UTC)It's mid-70's Farenheit here. Usually up around 90 F.
But according to the Conservatives the weather isn't changing at all.
This is the third summer in a row where the grass has stayed green into the fall (that is, if this continues. It could change, of course, and we could still have crunchy grass.)

Cats & Meerkats
Date: 2010-07-03 08:33 pm (UTC)Makes you wonder why a poor dog pants and slobbers and suffers from heat and cats don't. Of course, if you asked a cat it would merely smirk as if to say, "Because we're superior."
I love your Meerkat picture. Where'd you find it?
Re: Cats & Meerkats
Date: 2010-07-03 09:24 pm (UTC)And cats have less trouble than dogs since they are generally smaller than most dogs and smaller animals have more surface area relative to their body size than larger ones. More surface area = more heat loss. So cats are would have more trouble with cold than heat, at least in comparison to dogs.
