Severus (left) and Lucius re-enact the Creation scene from the Sistene Chapel ceiling. I don’t think that both God and Adam had their eyes closed, though.

I have another ECG tomorrow—this time at the doctor--because apparently the ECG results never came through from the hospital, and then I have to see the doctor on Thursday. So, just in case the worst happens and I die of a blood clot between now and Thursday, make a note of it will you? Honestly, the hospital really put the willies up me (no pun intended) and I really feel that every minute is a case of Russian Roulette. It’s not like me to feel like this, either, believe you me!

I’ve been playing a game I bought years ago called Coldwinter. it’s a first person shooter, and obviously uses the Half-life engine, or whatever, because it runs exactly like HL. And I’m actually enjoying it. I may go back after this and TRY and bloody finish Half Life after this, because it’s just embarrassing that I never finished it. And yes, I’m playing Coldwinter on easy, did you need to ask?

Fingers and toes crossed for a felicitous doctorial visitation. Love the cats imitating art! :-)

thanks, dear. The ECG went well, at least, although discussion on results tomorrow.

Because obviously it's too difficult for him to PHONE THE HOSPITAL and get the results of the many ECGs I had when I was admitted...

I presume that an ECG is an electrocardiogram? (In America, it's spelled EKG, don't ask me why.) And that's STUPID, the hospital losing the results so that you have to have another one. I've had a few of those myself. Not my favorite test.

I'm sorry that the hospital has scared you so much. That can't be pleasant. I've had the feeling lately that you were very tense, but I didn't realize that the hospital and the doctors were being quite so frightening.

So, just in case the worst happens and I die of a blood clot between now and Thursday, make a note of it will you?

Well, of COURSE! (I'm not anticipating that that will happen, but of COURSE I'd notice!)

Fun fact: the antagonist of Cold Winter is voiced by Tom Baker.

Yes - typical of the USA to misspell it.

I don't think the hospital lost anything - they just haven't sent him a copy of the results, and obviously it's too hard for him to phone and request them. *hate*

The nurse who gave me the scan at the hospital couldn't have been nicer, she was really kind and personal, which made a nice change, but the way she said "you must be on an anti-coagulant and quickly" and then it takes my doctor a week just to set it up, is annoying. As soon as my eyes are sorted out I'm DEFINITELY changing doctors. I need a doctor who doesn't ring me and then says "why am I ringing you?"

Tom Baker, yes! It was a thrill to hear his voice (didn't know he was the antagonist, though, hadn't got that far...) he's got such a fab voice.

They are hugely photogenic, and it's not often I can get an action shot without it blurring! They do love each other, as you can probably see by the half hearted boxing!

Cute kitties and great pic!

Sending good thoughts and best wishes for the ECG/doctor appointment. I know this sounds stupid, but please try not to worry overly. Stress is harmful, too!

I wish I could stop stressing, there's just so MUCH to stress about! LOL

God & Adam would have closed their eyes if they both had retractable claws.

I expect they're trying to make sure you DO go in because so many people go into denial and pretend there's nothing wrong. My dad had a couple of heart attacks that he never saw the doctor for... he just pretended nothing happened and the doc yelled at him later when they saw the ekg.

You're alive NOW and likely to stay that way, so don't let 'em scare you into a tizzy. Andrew Weil calls that 'medical hexing,' and even if they mean well, what good is it supposed to do to make you jumpy?

Idjits.

Thanks dear, your sage advice made me calm down. I developed this uneven heart beat nearly a year ago, and I haven't died yet, so it's silly to sit here thinking I'm going to, and quite unlike me.

My father-in-law had arrhythmia for years; he died of something else at 89. But when you're used to being relatively healthy, being told you have heart trouble is always alarming.

Great picture of the cats!

I hope the game is taking you mind off all the doctor related crapola.

Get well soon!

(What, no eggs or hatchlings? I'd have clicked.)

Thanks dear - I forgot to put the eggs up! I'm having problems freezing them at just hatched stage, they get too many clicks - and when I freeze them, they develop wings. Very annoying when one is trying to get complete sets.

I've never tried to freeze anything at the DC, but other people tell me they have the same problem you do with their hatchlings getting wings after they've been frozen.

It might have something to do with the server time being way off. My nocturnal dragons are awake during the day and stone at night, among other issues.

I'm sure the NHS is far worse for lost and slow results than the equivalent vet services. Maybe we Brits are just better at complaining on behalf of our pets than for ourselves. Fingers crossed for you.

Well yes, Vets are paid by their clients directly. If my vet lost (or more likely couldn't be arsed to look up) my results I've have reason to shout. Pratchett puts it well in one of his books when he speaks about doctors vs vets, people are worth nothing, and racehorses are worth a fortune.

But our taxes enable GPs to earn salaries vets can only dream of. We *should* complain about the useless ones and praise the good ones.

Not that I'm taking sides in the whole who earns what debate: I just think we should expect good service from everyone no matter how they get paid for the services they provide us with.
