This is my husband in Fable. (the one on the left, the overdressed guy on the right is my character) Hubby is a bit of a common oik, but he really appreciates that such a great hero has decided to marry him. So cool – medieval same sex marriage. Only cost me one red rose a box of chocolates and a wedding ring too.

have you tried dragon age where you can also have long gay relationships with your choice of party member - seriously, I accidentally started a lesbian affair in mine and was forever being told to stop being so careless in battle as I had her to think about as well....

dragon age is much better than fable, it's richer, darker and you genuinely feel you're making a difference
although one bugbear - the monsters level up when you do, so they're always as difficult and sometimes the simplest monster (Genlocks) kill you because of that
it also has WAY more choice and the choices actually make a difference unlike in fable where it really doesn't it just looks like it does

I'll check it out when (and if) I ever finish Fable - I'm not a natural RPG player because I hate all the bloody fighting, I don't mind this so much because i can actually get stronger than the monsters, but if they get stronger as I get stronger that's not nice!!

there isn't that much fighting, you're gathering an army actually and you can avoid the monsters, and it's party based, so you can set up your character as a healer and let your AI controlled party wail on them
they did a game before called the Witcher (which is brilliant but PC only) where you can get stronger than the monsters but it meant that towards the end the combat was just annoying because you were so much more powerful than they were
the alternative is to have millions of types of monsters

but seriously one of the first quests you get is to deliver recall notices to a group of mercenaries - you don't have to do any of them really - but a little while later you find yourself retracing your steps as you deliver notices to their widows
you can sell out the apostate magicians to the templars earning their alliance, or you can help the apostates and get them involved
it really does offer choice which is amazing
and it looks much much better

I don't think that he will be much use in the game itself, but it was fun to do and fair play to the RPG makers!
