I suppose I would be posting more about this series if it annoyed me. at the moment, aside from the fact that Jaime and Renly are no where near as beautiful as they should be, I think the whole thing is pitch perfect.

Tyrion and Littlefinger are pwning everyone else, as it should be, and when backstory is needed it's not all dumped in at the place in the book where it appears, it's placed in a spot where it can be exposed well and without "as you know, bob" dialogue. I know people were complaining that Theon Greyjoy hadn't been introduced, even though he was there in the scenes, and now that his story has been deftly explained in a short scene between himself and Tyrion we know enough about him which will hold until his story takes off later.

I love it. What more can I say?

I'm coming at it from the perspective of someone who hasn't yet read the series, and I'm kinda lovin' it too. I love Tyrion, can't begin to get a handle on Littlefinger and find it interesting that I can loathe Cersei and yet feel great sympathy for her at the same time. She broke my heart when she was talking about the death of her son. Amazing stuff.

Well, to be frank--the series is showing her quite differently to the books. I won't say more if you are planning to read them, but either they put that story in, or she made it up just to impress Catelyn--I hope that it turns out that it was the latter as in the books she aborted all of Robert's children... She's actually one of the few characters (in the books) that I want bad things to happen to from the onset!! LOL.

I look forward to meeting the characters as written. I'm a great believer in the notion that a film version of any book has to be its own thing while remaining true to its source, which can be a high wire act. I gather from comments of people who are familiar with the books that the series is doing pretty well in that respect.

I tend to think that she was lying to play on Catelyn's sympathies and deflect her suspicions, because Catelyn Stark had never heard of the death of Cersei's child. And there's no way that the news of the heir's death wouldn't have been trumpeted all over the Seven Kingdoms.

But it was a GREAT lie, wasn't it? Tragic and heart-tugging and ever so sympathetic. And it does contain a kernel of truth: Cersei would do anything, anything at all, to save her children from harm. Even if it means seemingly befriending an enemy. (And Cersei already told Joffrey that "anyone who isn't us is an enemy.")

It was a terrific lie. I bought it. But then I'm not Catelyn and I don't have to fret about who means me or my family harm.

YOUR THOUGHTS ARE MY THOUGHTS. JAIME AND RENLY MAKE ME ANGRY.

At least Lancel Lannister was pretty.

And omg so much yes with Petyr and Tyrion. They rock so hard. Although I am loving Jon Snow, too!

and Loras is truly lovely. Conan (who plays the mountain) was interviewed the other day and he made the excuse of having his shirt off all the time that he was trying to win Loras from Renly. LOL
